Brushless Rustler rear-end

Brushless Rustler rear-end
I have a XL-5 that's been upgraded to metal gears in the rearend. Ringed Diff... Idler... clutch shaft... etc. I thru a MM 5700 setup in it and took off. Everything worked great for a while...
I heard a noise, that sounded something like a gear letting loose when under a load. I thought maybe the spur gear was loose... and causing it to work fine until loaded. Not the case. I figured I might've broke a tooth off an internal gear... and broke in to the rear to figure it out. There's nothing noticably wrong with the gears or diff internals.
Under low throttle, 10-20%, I can putt around without a problem. When I hammer on it, it sounds like a gear is backed out and it slips really bad. I can manually hold the rear wheels & turn the spur gear by hand and recreate the noise.
Resistance... resistance... *POP*... resistance... resistance... *POP*
It definitely sounds internal.
What do you think it could be? All the bearings look good & have no play... the housing is in good shape...
<shrug>
I'm at a loss. I was wondering if the Rustlers were known for having something wear to cause this issue.
Thanks!

I feel like an idiot! I did check the planatery gears, and they looked fine. I didn't however check the stock halfshafts!
I broke the car down and brought the rearend in to the office today. I've been trying to recreate the noise all morning... by holding the rearend attached halfshafts & gearing... but couldn't. That's prolly because the halfshaft has stripped/split the end of the shaft that's attached to the wheel! Which I didn't bring in to the office!
Thanks...
That shoulda been where I started. I had an RS4 MT before... and when it broke a dogbone, I knew it. I guess these things are different...
:-)
I'll check it out when I get to the house.

Oh yeah, I took it completely apart... every last screw. :-)
That's how I checked the planatery gears. I made sure the shafts on the planatery gears were still solid & attached... and they were. I made sure all bearing were tight and not giving at all... and they were fine.
Everything internal looked good... so it only makes sense for the halfshaft to be split, stripped, or broken.
Hopefully...
