Thanks for clearing that up, that is exactly what I was trying to say.
The Dirtinator can just plain dial and wheel whatever he gets ahold of.
X Factory is by no means an inferior car.

I'm willing to bet that if Kinwald gets to feelin 100% he will surely be one they'll have to beat for a title!
GO DIRT!
He'll kick your aces with a Radio Shack or Nikko Worlds Edition Factory Team ride.
If anything I was giving credit to the XFactory cars, but I can see how it might not have read that way. Especially considering the enviornment those guys must be in running anything different.

I wouldn't bag on the XFactory cars, heck, I designed and manufactured the body tooling for the 2wd car!

They are unusual, but that is not always bad was my point. I would imagine on a grass track where wheelies are a concern they may have an advantage! Ask Ellis? lol

.

Thought I'd cross-post this to applicable threads - I'll put up a few more races from the nats as time allows.

Too many sandbaggers in stock, Brent gave it all he had but couldn't win against the pro. Andrew won the shoot-out last year in stock buggy. He belongs in super stock with the rest of the pro level racers.

I don't think Brent has anything to hang his head about, he was tearing that track a new one. Made me feel a lot better getting so thoroughly shamed by him at the club races the weekend prior, when they lumped me in with normal stock.

Imo, a sandbagger would be someone who was in the Mod A main at Nationals within the last couple of years and ran stock.

Not a guy who raced electric a few times in 7 years and when he did he ran mostly stock.

Bottom line, imo, "you only win if a faster racer doesn't show up"!

Just ask all our local hotshoes who normally dominate our regionals(Ryan Eckert, JR Mitch, Jason Ruona, Gene Hickerson).....They did not win this year, since Billy Easton lives in the area now and TQed and Won the prestigious 1/8th buggy class. If he didn't race buggy, Ryan Eckert would have won all three of the classes he ran, rather then only two!

Heh, nothing to do with Smolnick at all, however if someone is good enough for a factory nitro sponsorship what makes you think electric racing will be hard for them?

Two different worlds. Not every one can do both at the same level. Saxton is the King of gas truck a while back. But didn't do so well in electric. Drake is kind of the same. Still faster than most, but not like they are behind the wheel of a nitro.

Ya, that is the way I see things. I have seen almost everyone who is fast in electric do well in nitro. Their only issue is, will they finish a long main, but they all qualify very well.
Most have become dominant in gas, in fact all of the fastest gas racers in Florida are long time electric racers, never even challenged by someone who hasn't raced electric.

But I have not seen many nitro drivers run well in electric, to the point that they are a threat to win at least.

I think nitro has an effect on how smooth and in control a driver you become, so the transition isn't as easy. I do think a racer with nitro experience will be MUCH faster then a new racer with no experience, but that is obvious.
Watch and more importantly listen at the next nitro event. I can listen for a lap and know which guys have recent electric experience.

A 50% off Factory Nitro sponsorship is easy to get, usually a resume away with a lot of companies...but I think you meant 100% full ride guys? Those are tuff to come by, unless you have spent thousands of your own dollars proving yourself at major events already.
