Default Type of velcro for buggy bodies?

What type of velcro are you guys using to attach buggy bodies to the chassis? I'm sick of losing body pins!! I saw some 3M stuff with an adhesive backing. Is the adhesive strong enough to stay on the chassis and body? Any info is greatly appreciated!!

The best I've found is at Lowe's. Its called Industrial Strength I believe and its Velcro brand. Its about $7 for 8 feet which is pretty cheap. And both the adhesive and the Velcro itself are plenty strong enough for r/c use. The Velcro will hold heavy lipo's securely to a chassis. The key is to work the two sides back and forth in to one another and then they form a bond that it is VERY hard to release.

I use either the Velcro or 3M brands and they seem to hold up pretty good .

I've used the Velcro brand available at Walmart (in their craft section) and sometimes at the 99cent Stores... If you crash hard enough to break it loose.. there might be other things to concern yourself with first!

Good luck!

For the most part the ordinary 3M stuff you noted is likely good enough. Then again if you're running an 1/8 buggy, with it's heavier platform, or do a lot of wrecking (no offense) then you might check into some heavier-duty stuff that holds a lot firmer as it's intended for more industrial uses.

But do not under any circumstances use it to hold down battery packs - it's not worth the risk. People have been trying to use sticky back velcro in RC uses since it came out back in the 80s, including the industrial grade heavy duty stuff, and all it's resulted in is people ruining their electronics or batteries or whatever when it gets ejected from the vehicles after a hard crash and costing them money.

Hold on bodies = good
Hold on anything else = bad
