Im just wondering because a track that changes for every run makes for a stressful day sometimes. At a race with stiff competition you can get shafted and run on a semi-dry track while the other guys get the wet track. Have you guys ever tried just blowing it and running it dry? If its got good clay is should get like concrete and be very consistant all day. I dont care either way just fair for everyone.
We have tried everything you can think of on the track. Blow between races and water between rounds, blow and water between each race, blow and water between rounds only, only water, only blow, etc.

This is a very nice clay/sand/loam mix, it is packed hard like cement, but with a touch of water it softens slightly. We found though, that if we dont water, it tends to blow out faster, cracks and chunks will fly. With a touch of water every 30 - 60 minutes and blowing between rounds.....should be fast, real smooth and not blow out bad at all.

Weather for the next two days is going to be 75 - 80 degrees and sunny. So it will dry out on us. We will discuss a plan to start with for track maintenance, and if we need to vary it for the best racing conditions, thats what we will do. And of course we will take into consideration what you guys are saying also about the track conditions. I would be shocked if you had to vary your setup or tire choice much throughout the entire day. Once you get hooked up you should stay hooked up all day on this stuff, that is unless we are still racing after dark when it cools down, then it might change a tad. But once the sun goes down we dont water anymore, the track holds its moisture real well.

We are all racers to, so rest assured we will do whatever we can to give the best racing surface and conditions for this entire event.

All right guys and gals, tomorrow is almost here.....going to be a blast. Things you should know:

There will be a mobile food wagon here all weekend for food at the track

There will also be food and beverages available at the counter in the pit area

Most of the normal racers will be pitting outside, so we are trying to leave the pit area free for all of you from out of town

Each pit table inside holds 4 people and has power, please bring a comfortable chair with you, some of these steel chairs in the pit area can get uncomfortable after a few hours of sitting in them

If you plan on pitting outside please bring a generator for power, tables and chairs and a pop up if you have one

A large variety of spare parts will be available for sale in the pit area for AE and Losi products

Many wheels and rims will also be for sale in the pit area

Fantom Racing LiPos and motors will be for sale outside in the pit area (quantities limited)

Door open at noon on Friday and 7:00AM on Saturday

Bring bug spray, if we are racing after dark the bugs come out from the lake the track sits on

Temperatures are going to be between 75 - 80 degrees this weekend and in the 50's at night bring clothing for both conditions

Have fun, good luck and have a safe trip over!

Default Hobby shop

Will the hobby shop be open early this morning? If so, what is the address? We are going to be there a little early, and might do some shopping.

We have had between 40 - 60 guys at the track for practice all day long. Pits were full baby, but its looking like tent city outside now to. I think the last I heard we are around 100 entries or so already today. Got some stiff competition out here, bring your A-game guys.

It looks like we will have enough to run a novice class tomorrow for sure. Also going to run an exhibition Slash class from the sounds of it. Not sure about the generator, we have a large city of pop up tents going, so someone may need it if its not a hassle to bring with you.

Had a real nice group out today to practice. Also had a good group of guys run the Friday Night Under the Lights race to. All in all an amazing day. Detroit guys, get over here and represent will ya already! Had a load of heavy hitters running today. Those Ohio boys were flying (and talking trash about Detroit, just kidding). Hope to see you all out tomorrow, going to be another great day of racing!
