There is a video on YouTube of an RC car skimming over a hole in a frozen lake. Haven't tried and probably won't.

Sorry - can't find it now. Somebody water-proofed their car, punched a hole in a frozen lake and did some skimming. First few trys didn't work until he added spikes to the tires.
