which servos? ko propo or airtronics!
im going to be gettin a ko propo ex-10 helios tx along with a ko propo KR-320F 3-channel rx, and im thinking about which sevos im going to get. right now im thinkin about getting ko propo DIGITAL SERVOS PDS-2344 FET 180.5 oz. 0.13 S @60°. http://www.kopropo.com. but have ben told to get airtronics 94358z erg-vr speed/hi torque 200oz/in. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTT13&P=0 , so im not sure what to get. what do u guys recommend? have any of u used the ko propo servos? are they anygooddo u trust them? whats the scoop? thank you
Note: its goona be used for streering! what servo do u recommend for throttel? |
What kind of car is this going in? Both Airtronics and KO make great servos, but I've heard the cases on KO servos are a bit bit, and sometimes the mounting area/deck requires some custom fitting for them to fit in right.

its going to go on a mugen mbx5

The airtronics 94358, 94359 are the bomb. I have a 359 for steering and I am very pleased with it. A lot of the serious racers I know run 358's all around. U wont go wrong with those.

JR makes a very nice servo as well.
|
so what do u guys think can i trust ko propo or should i get the airtronics?
|
Not to Jump on the thread but I am having the same questions about a streering servo for a Super Nitro
Thanks in Advance Jeff |
The 358-359 are great servos otherwise the futaba 9350 is just as good.
Jr and Hitec are not any good in nitro, If you talk to Hitec or Jr they will tell you that their digital servos will not last in a 1/8 buggy especially for steering. I got this infor directily from JR and Hitech. In fact if you use a jr 8450 in a 1/8 buggy and it fails jr will not warrenty it unless you call them and make a huge stink on the phone. They say that it was abuse due to vibration damage I know this because I just sent 2 8450 servos into them and got that same line of B.S. from their tech and untill I talked to the dept. manager and basically was screaming at him did I get the truth and the truth is that they know their servos have a problem and they are working on it. |
whats the difference bewtween DIGITAL & ANALOG SERVOS. whats the advantage of having of having a DIGITAL instead of a ANALOG SERVO. could i do more with a DIGITAL SERVO. can i do other things with it from my remote! LMK

so should i go with ko propo or just get the airtrionics one!
|
Specs don't really matter after you pass 100oz. of torque. All of these servos are capable enough to handle the job. What you should look at is price and durability. I think KO has everyone there. I've tried all the brands and I feel that KO has got the be the best one. Stick with KO for your KO reciever.
One thing I've noticed is that almost everyone has an Airtronics radio. The KO or Futaba plugs don't fit the reciver. Could the ranting and raving of JR and Air servos just be due to the fact that they won't put in the effort to make a KO or Futaba plug fit? |
racin4evo- so would u got with a ko propo tx instead of a m8 tx?
which do u perfer? im thinkin about buyin a ex-10 helios when they release the 75mhz version! but so many people use the m8 so they must be really good and trusted! but i like the features of both and its so hard to decide! |
The M8 is a great radio. So is the KO Mars that I have(2 actually). The one thing the Airtronics has on the Mars is the easy to navigate menu. But besides that, I think the KO is better in every respect. Yeah, if you got big a$$ hands don't get a KO but I think the Helios sloves the problem:both menu navigation and grip comfort. I've seen some preety big hands holding a Mars anyway and they didn't mind it one bit. Stick with the Helios decision. KO forever!
|
yeah im leaning more for a ko!
|
does anyone know if ko propo will be comin out with a crystal less module? like the m8 radio?
