GTB Lipo cut off??? How to tell

Hi Guy's,

I bought a GTB from a friend, but how can I tell by looking at it if it has Lipo cut off, because he can't remember and doesn't have the box.

I was told by another guy at our local track that they should all have them, but it needs to be turned on while programming, however I don't think that is true.

Thanks
Dave

They all don't have this setting, it was a running change to the programming. If you unplug the speedo wire that plugs into the receiver, turn speedo on, hold set button down until the red and amber light (not 100% sure for amber being the other color light, might be another color) come on then you have the lipo on/off setting. You might want to go to Novak's site, www.teamnovak.com to see if you can't download the manual for the speedo to make sure I didn't tell you the wrong colors for the lights.

When enabled a yellow light should blink each time you start it also.

I don't like it on for NiMh it makes the car shut off and back on when it starts to dump.

If you look in the onroad forum...in the "Ask Steve Weiss" thread...Steve posted some pictures of the differences between lipo and non-lipo GTBs. There's an area of the lower board that's pretty bare on a non-lipo model and there's a chip and a couple small components in that spot if it *does* have the cutoff. It think it was the corner underneath where the radio plugs are.
