Default Xcelorin vs VXL

I've got a vxl system in my slash but I'm thinking about changing it out for the xcelorin sytem. Anyone have experience running both systems in the same r/c? Saw a vid and the xcelorin looked a lot faster but I don't know what else they were running and such.

Thanks

Many options to choose from. I suggest a Novak GTB with 6.5 motor or Tekin RSPro with 6.5 or 5.5 motor.

Id personally choose losi over the vxl, i like my sytem better than my friens vxl, its just easier to program, and it can handle more power. It is faster because the motor with the vxl system is only 3300kv or 3500kv i forget which, but the base motor from losi is 4800kv. The higher the kv rating, the faster the motor.

BTW, heres a video of my xxx-t with a losi 7500kv system and a 7 cell 4600mah side by side.

Yes a higher kv motor can turn higher rpm than a lower kv motor, but that alone does not make it faster. Higher KV also means it more prone to heat, and are less capable of higher voltages. I love the look of the Losi system over the Traxxas, But I live in a Castle with my MAMBA.

My friend has a Losi Speed-T and I was quite impressed with the Xcelorin system that came in it. He never re-programmed it, so I'm not sure on that end of it, but the truck is definitely fast!

I think you'll be disapointed if you expect a signifigant performance increase by going from VXL to the losi setup

the VXL will make the truck go 70.......
