I love and embrace the Slash as I realize its place in our sport, right from the get go ...

That I`m guilty of I will admit....

None of other Slash driver`s would allow another design to beat um though , they would all cry cheater , ect ....

That is not a healthy race program , and it is doomed to fail....

So have fun bashing ....

I`m busy racing with my Ae rides..

BDW

Notice Traxxas`s never has produce a competitive ride in the establish class`s ?

They can`t win so they create class`s of their own that only fail with time ...

I feel sorry for the management at Traxxas , they been trying for year`s and want to be winner`s @ the IFMAR world`s & Roar Nationals.

Yet fail, as they are unable to design winner machines like Ae build`s..

You need to understand , I stand for racing as a sport..

Traxxax does not respect racing, and if they did I would be supporting them ...

Hope you understand why I`m this way ....

I`m a racer and love this sport first ...

That's him,

I for one give him great props for being able to take part in a rational debate and change his mind. It shows that even though he has his own views and opinions (that he is intitled to) he still has the ablility to listen to other views and opinions and see things from their side.

Lots on this forum stick to their beliefs even if it means cutting their own heads off.

Right now I'm bumming about my favorite class, Stock Truck. A lot of the fun of Stock Truck was putting effort into wringing every last drop of speed you could get out of these things, and you had to get creative at times when it came to motor tuning and chassis setup. And some of the best stuff came from rumors floating around the pits, little secrets you'd share with your buddies about springs to try or motor brushes to use or a certain line to take around the track. After spending an entire night taking all of this information and applying it to your truck, and then you show up the next week and run away with the show, you've got something to be proud of. You put in the effort and went by experience, and how 'bout that, you won as a result. Sure, maybe that meant you had to buy a few hot rod parts and equipment, but that comes with racing.

Nowadays it seems like everyone expects to start out on top. There's no learning setups or motor tuning anymore; insane amounts of track prep and brushless motors took care of that. Now it's almost boring, and the Stock Truck turnout's been suffering as a result.

If racing the Slash and the trucks that will undoubtedly follow it means I'm not allowed to try different things or spend money on faster equipment - if there's nothing for me to learn when it comes to making my truck faster because the rules state everybody has to be on the same level equipment-wise, so I can just sit by myself at my pit between rounds twiddling my thumbs with nothing to do...well what's the fun in that?

Taken from the Sptember Xtreme RC (received my digitial copy just then)...

Looks like I can see a nitro head and a fuel tank in the pic.

So if it is Nitro 4WD it is a competitor to the Slayer, not the Slash.

I too think its way too easy for people to just bolt on the next best speedo, motor, etc, etc to TRY and go faster. When that doesnt help - they quit.

The Slash, and any other vehicle has more tuning options on them than people know how or try to master.

Front Camber, Caster, Rear Camber, Toe In/Out, Ackerman, Shock Angle, Gear Ratio, Slipper Setting, Smoothness of the Shock, Shock Pistons, Suspension resistance, Shock Fluid Damping and, Rebound, Ride Height, and last by IMHO the most important tuning aid of all for going FAST - no matter what hop up you purchase...................................THE TRIGGER FINGER!!!!!!

Master those, and if your still not getting pleasure out of the class, then the next class you run will probably not satisfy you long term either.

the slayer is 4wd lol...so like i said if anything it'll be raced in a class with the sc8

Yeah I don't know about a cylinder head either...but that certainly looks like a fuel tank that I can see through the front fender.

If it's nitro, it will be a major let down for me.
