I parallel charge all the time, glassdocs got it. The voltage has to be the same and they will stay equal voltage all the way up.

I know it works, when my truggy was brushless I charged both my batteries separate and I couldn't get them charged in time for the races. I made a Y adapter and have had no problems whatsoever. When you set it up to charge like that make sure you set it to 14.8v and only 4000mah which is what my lipos were. I ran 2 2s 4000mah lipos in a series.

Like what was said, you absolutely can do that providing the batteries have the same mAh's. But of course you cant do a 4000mAh and a 4900mAh.
Instead of buying two ICE's, THIS FMA Cellpro would be a FAR better choice. You can balance charge MULTIPLE lipo's at up to 3C! This is a 10amp charger so if you ever decided to get into 1/8 scale with 5 or 6 cell lipos you're set.

I have been contemplating the same decision to buy 1 charger that can charge 2 lipo batteries.
I have a Ice, Checkpoint and a Supernova that could do fine but with the amount of gear we have to carry to the track its starting to get much.
Cant wait for lipos to be come the standard as well as brushless for our local racing.
Ive been looking at the Hyperion Duo http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/20720

This is the same as the Supernova mentioned above.

I'm sorry for the off-topic response, but how does one add back lighting? Is it simply a matter of adding some LEDs?

Click on that ebay link in post 11 and you'll figure it out. Scroll through the pictures and see the little lighting module that sits behind the screen. Also, I dont know if THIS Mega Power is newer, but that blue sure looks better than the gold!

That would be a good way to describe it an "upgraded ice" They are nearly identical.

Fans, current, backlight, are some of the upgrades.

Back to topic of parallel chargeing/using The batts just have to be same (cell count and)voltage, not capacity, brand, C, ect. A tiny pack can be parralled along with a big pack to slightly increase the total capacity.

The more I think about that sounds right. Same cell count is the key. So I guess what he was asking about could be done, but charging 8900mAh on an ICE might take quite some time. I saw they only do 1C max, but how many amps max will it charge?
