thankyou PTP and others who replied
i have been doing some other research and all signs
point to the mbx5
i also think i saw the nova p5 for sale online at
tower around $300 does that sound right it has the
pink head not the purple
also when building the buggy i will probably do the
dual steering deck thing too
another question though is do you seal your diffs
with rtv or just build em as per instructions and if
you do use rtv is it just a little on the outside seams
or what
thankyou for the help so far
sb

i built mine with some rtv that i put on either side of the gasket

i knew from past experience mugen diffs tend to leak although i am not sure on mbx5 since i did it when i built them

but you may not want to do that untill youve decided what diff oil you like best i had a good idea of what i wanted to use right from the start

the engine you saw on tower if its novarossi and p5 its the one we are talking about im sure the head is the purple one since i dont think they made any pink ones either the picture is poor or you call the color pink but either way thats the one i think you ought to get

i dont like purple so i had my head sand blasted so now its just the natural aluminum color maybe i will get an odonnel head for it one day but i really didnt want purple but those damn odonnel heads are near impossible to get and if you can find them they cost near $100

K2 all the way. I am now on my thrid 7.5 buggy (regular 7.5, kanai 1 and now Kanai 2). So far this has been a very good buggy. the new x5 is simply not a proven buggy yet. Mugen of the past have had issues with blowing steering servos becasue the built in servo saver in the xr and rr was terrible but it remains to be seen how the x5 is, I would bet they did make it better. Things I have noticed are that the x5 still cannot handle rough terain like the kyosho and the pivot ball front suspension is a real pain in the a$$

At least you have nailed it down to 2 good buggies either way you will be happy but the track record of world championships that kyosho has is pretty hard to argue.
