Default best 4wd buggy to buy

Looking for advice on buying an electric 4wd buggy. Not sure which one to choose, AE, Losi, Kyosho, BJ4, Hot Bodies. Hoping this forum will help me decide.

There is an interesting article in RC Car that you may want to read which is the 4WD shootout that they did. IT may help you come to some decisions. As for me, I love my ZX5 SP. Strong, easy to drive, and barely ever have to mess with the setup.

I see that you forgot the Tamiya 501x. My 501x was the toughest car I ever owned. It was a tank and was the easiest to drive fast.

I would say you can't go wrong with the AE, JC BJ4 (is an early B44), or the Kyosho.

Although I do know this question has been aska few 100 times, so I know there is some good info in the forums about it.

You will get a lot of answers, and I bet most of those answers will be buggies that made the last A-main at a big event. So there is the answer, look at the fastest guys, then pick the one that has the best parts support where you are.

I have a B44 and really like it. Its easy to work on, the parts are pretty cheap and easily available. The car is really durable for me and Ive never driven a 4W before. The Kyosho looks good as well, Im just not fond of having to buy 2 sets of parts to get 2 sets of what you want. They package a front and a rear in each set, which is a little annoying.

If I were to choose though I would get the B44 or the Lazer because Ive seen them in action and look really good.

The Tamiya seems to be a flat track car, and struggled on jumps. Pretty expensive as well. Same for the Yokomo.

Hot Bodies has the D4, which is similar to the B44 so that could be another option, although Ive never seen many places readily stock HB parts.

i'm not gonna get into why, because i've probably said my opinions on this subject a dozen times already...

so i'll just vote: b44

+1 for the B44

For me, it runs well, is durable, and is the best priced and valued 4WD buggy on the market!

Personally I would go for either the Kyosho or the Academy (which I did) mainly to keep the battery issue simple.

The B44 is pretty damn sexy though.

Go For a B44 because they are so strong and cheap to run and fix.

THANKS TO ALL WHO RESPONDED, I was to lazy to ready all the threads about whats best, to all who have had to answer this question before. I'm going with the B44, the LHS has one for $324.00. I'm going to be racing this one at OCRC in H.B. Thanks again. H.A.H. halfasshuffer

You also have to factor in shipping.. To ship it to me with the cheapest option was another $15, so the difference is only $10. I'd much rather support the LHS and spend another $10 to get it right away..
