I think my buddy is going to buy the slash But I like the look of the losi better Is one much better than the other?

rjs_13203 06-24-2008 04:19 PM

i dont even know anyone with the losi 1. i just have seen and heard that the slashs r real fun, also real easy to get parts for, since i think they have the same arms as the rusty. also i guess the tires being inside of the wheel wells makes for more banging style racing without spinning out

hakmazter 06-24-2008 04:41 PM

and the Traxxas doesn't look like a pregnant rollerskate....

Yes there is a difference!

I have Losi race trucks & I have the Slash. I've taken a close look at the Losi truck & it is just a Losi XXXT (with Speed-T shock towers & shocks) and a roll cage. It looks nice and should perform well because of it's race bred heritage.

The Slash is a LARGE vehicle, alot bigger than the Losi and more scale looking. It's actually more of a 1/8 scale. The body does fit nicely on a 1/8 buggy though. But the Slash is not race bred, it's basher bred off the Stampede. But that doesn't mean it's not raceable! having a whole class of Slashes racing against each other would be really cool!

both tracks close to my house have classes for them alot of people running them, have yet to see a losi truck yet

The Losi is just a XXXT with adifferent body and tires. The Traxxas is completely different than most of us are used to running. It has 3.5 inches of ground clearance and has handling charictaristics like the full scale truck. It appears to be more realistic.

I have been racing since 1980 and the Slash is just too much fun it brings back memories when the cars were slower and didn't handle like a Ferari.

I would highly recomend the Slash.

+1 for slash. I love losi but traxxas gets my vote on this one.

wow! tough love for the DT. I have an account on RCUniverse and alot of people like the DT. The only bad thing they say about it is that the stock motor is kinda slow. It only goes about 23MPH with an ok 6 cell pack. But durability it really good and they say it is really fun. The diff holds up good to a VXL/9 cell battery great with no problems.

i've always been an associated/losi guy. first associated, then losi, then back to associated. so i'd be a little partial to the losi. better heritige better name.

but looking at it it looks like nothing new. just a xxx-t tweaked a little bit. i'm sure its a great truck. but been there done than.

if you want something new i'd go for the slash. its something totally different! and i saw some videos of an all slash race (someone posted them here on r/c tech) and man they look fun! at first when i heard about the slash and saw pics i was like, ho hum. but once i saw some race videos... man, i might have to get me one if a track around gets a slash class!

my vote is for the slash
