I have been racing since 1980 and the Slash is just too much fun it brings back memories when the cars were slower and didn't handle like a Ferari.

I would highly recomend the Slash.
I agree completely with this. The Losi is just a slight mod of their race truggy, and so it looks and performs very similar. I'd say if you are considering the DT, just go ahead and get a XXXT and race in the truggie class.

The Slash is really unique - size, appearance, and performance. My personal opinion is that it's the most fun RC that has come out in a LONG time. They wouldn't really be much fun racing in a truggy class, but in a separate class they are a blast! I've entered three spec races so far on three tracks, and everyone has a great time with it.

If you're looking for a basher rather than a racer, I'd also suggest the Slash. It's unbelievably tough. Although if you want a basher you might want to look towards something faster out of the box, like a Rustler or Stampede VXL.

miller time, I know that most everybody will understand what you were trying to say but just to clear it up in case there are any noobs reading your comments about "truggies" : the xxx-t format is a 2wd electric 1:10 stadium truck. A truggy is a 4wd nitro 1:8 scale truck. Neither the Slash or the losi would be raced in the truggy class.

To answer the question at hand:
The Slash is way more fun because it is so unique. If you're not planning on racing, I would get the Slash.

If you want to race with the other stadium trucks, you'll want to go with the Losi.

I like the Slash and will end up buying soon. It is more realistic looking to me, most of the parts are shop has in stock, we beat the shop/demo Slash and it takes a beat down with the Mamba 7700 system in it and it is just plain fun to run even in stock form. I can't get the smile off my face from laughing so much when I run it. Another thing is local tracks are already starting to support racing the truck.

Has at our track, we had 7 at the first race, untill now it has been all 1/8 buggies and truggies.

If you don't have something helpfull to say stay out of the thread!!!!! Maybe radio shack has a forum for you to go to.

I hear they are looking for some pro drivers for their x-mods

It brings a low cost excellent quality truck to the hobby. It gives the average kid/guy the ability to get into racing for under $300 and be competitive since all the tracks are running box stock "spec" classes.

We started a Slash class at my local track and 11 trucks showed up with in a week!

I'd welcome anyone to come out with a Radio Shack RC and beat my stock slash around the track
