I'm looking to hear from someone with the 3600 and the 3800 to break it down if there is a difference. That would be the best way to gauge the performance of this new pack.

Since I only have the 3600, 3800 will not have ROAR legality in time, I would imagine the difference would be felt more in stock racing then any other class. I could steal Kevin's and try it this weekend.......

I have both. I have a year old 3600 and just got the 3800 lipo. They are virtually the same. I cannot tell the difference between the two in my Xray sedan or in my Losi Truck.

They are roar appoved, under the same approval as the 3600 lipo

It is the exact same battery as the 3600, only there is a new sticker.

The performance of the 3600 was better than advertised so Orion bumped it up to reflect the better performance everyone already had. I was told , by an Orion factory driver, that it is the exact same lipo and same roar approval , because it is the same battery with new stickers.

how do you balance Orion lipos?

I read the the 'balancing tap' on the bottom allows you to charge each cell individually at 1S. Is this correct?

I just stopped by at hot rod today. You guys left a bunch of one run tires there! lol.

It can be the same battery all day long with a different sticker on it, and it wont be legal until ROAR says it legal. The advertised specs are different, therefore the battery has to be inspected by ROAR before it can be officially legal. The 3800 isnt even officially available in the U.S. yet....you guys that have one bought it from an overseas retailer. The Tech crew at the Shootout were correct in not allowing the 3800 to run.

On another note though, Kevin is correct in saying that the specs on the 3600 are "under-rated". The performance of it is way better than the numbers show according to some "insiders" at Orion and my own experience. I ran a 3600 lipo race spec in stock with an Orion Core stock motor at the Shootout and my RB5 was very fast!
