Default How to clean Electric Brushed Motors

Hey I am wondering whats the best way to keep your Electric Brushed motors running good like new? I am wondering what are some good ways to clean the motor and what are some good care tips?

That link is pretty thorough. One tip I'd add is if you clean your motor frequently but don't have ready access to a comm lathe you can extend the time between comm cuts by chucking your armature into a dremel tool. Run it slow, 11K RPMs or so and use your comm stick to carefully polish the comm. This works to remove discoloration, but if you have scratches or damage that you can catch your fingernail on its time to cut.
