Default off road engines (under 125)

my friend might be getting into nitro off road so we can bash together and we found a good kit on ebay it came with all the radio stuff but not engine and muffler. the redt is currently around 110. and since he is a normal teen, like me, we dont have much $$. so what would be a good engine for a NMT chassis compariable to a .15 nitro star engine. any company. it just has to be reliable and fairly powerful.

thanks in advance

Get a OS CV-R. Amazing engine! Probably will cost you a bit more than $130, but you'll be glad you bought it!

A OS CV would work also, but t would be slower, and the stock engine head sucks. I don't really know any cheap engine which are good, lol. Thats sort of an oxymoron in the nitro world.

The Fantom FR12. I have this engine and love it. Well, actually i haven't done much with it, but it is cheap and is talked good about it. They commented really good about it in RCCA once too.

hope this helps

Guys, I got 4 gallons of 20% through my STS MT .12. Then the front seal started leaking.

For the money you pay and the reliability and POWER you get from one of these lil monsters is incredible.

I just bought another STS MT .12 and it's just as fast as my old one.... in fact the more time you put on one of these engines, the faster they are. They're not as squirelly as the OS based engines, but they provide a CRAPLOAD of power all the way to 30,000 RPM's. Not to mention a mere 1.35 HP, which is a modest number. I sold a new one to a guy in Omaha and he had it dyno'ed and he sent me a picture of the print-out... it showed 1.66 HP @ 27,600 RPM's !!!!!!

Try one and you be the judge...
