Nitro Questions, See If You Can Answer Any

Hey, I was just wondering on a few things:
1. Whats the best % nitro/brand to run?
2. Is an Onboard temp gauge worth the $$$?
3. Do Nitros have to be geared "Correctly", or can it be geared however you want it to be?
4. Is there a .18 class, or a class of racing which .18's are allowed?

I am totally clueless in the nitro world, so bare with me.
Thanks for any answers,
Jeff AKA LosiFromHe||

1. Nitro Brand/% you will get a million answers to that one. I have used Trinity Monster(20%) and Platinum(30%) and I am currently using O'donnell 30% All seem like good fuels to me.
i would say stick with 20% if running anything below a .21

2. Onboard temp is good if u only have one car or dont mind swapping around.

3. U can gear your nitro to get whatever performance u want out of it. Low end, Top end, etc... As long as the kit allows for you to upgrade.

4. As far as I know you can race using an .18 on TMaxx class for offroad. Dont know about onroad. Doubt it.

1. most brands are fine to run in your car. Just stick with one though. I like Trinity Monster Horespower. O'donnel is also good. 20% is the pretty standard amount of nitro for regular use.

2. I really don't recomend the onboard temp gauge! I had one and it worked horibly. It even failed the boiling water test. Instead get a pro exotics temp gun at www.tempgun.com
I just got one and I love it. Its only $35 plus $5 shipping. Very small too. probably 1in. x 2in. Very accurate like raytek guns. Completely worth it, because temperature is an extremely important thing when your tuning your engine.

3. same as he said below

4. don't know, probably not very common if there is one.

hope this helps

1. For .12 size engine use 20%, For .21 size engine use
either 20% or 30% (refer to engine manufacturer's manual)

2. No.....a temp gun is not necessary too...unless you race.
3. National events doesn't have an .18 class yet.......consult your
local racetrack.
