Default LRP vs. Novak Brushless in T4?

I'm looking at getting a brushless system for my T4 and I just wanted some input between lrp and novak. Would 6.5 turns be good or bad? Any of your thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks

They are both good esc's

I myself prefer the sphere/novak motor combo myself. It works great. I have 2 orion motors and 1 novak motor and 3 spheres. Going forward i am gonna buy novak motors.

Now 6.5 is alot of motor for 2wd off-road.

Are you racing or useing it in the street ?

what size track are you running on ? Indoor outdoor?

What type of surface are you running on ? clay, dirt, sand, carpet,

Most of our racers are running the 6.5 or 7.5 in truck with lipos, If running cheaper batts you may want a little more motor, say a 5.5.

I have run the LRP and Novak. They are very close but the LRP is a tiny bit smoother and in my T4 it is easier to program(I have to untape the GTB to see the lights to program) + it matches the T4 blue stuff. My choice would be novak motors though. Just wish they would make the senson wire removable

Now for play you may want a ton of power in that case you could save some $$$ and buy a Castle Creations system. They are good for racing and just about unbeatable for all out speed, especialy with a 3 cell lipo!!!

Either one is a good choice.

You will get a little more controalbility with the 7.5 and longer run times as well.

I would like to beable to have reverse for playing around so the castle is good for that. How smooth is it? Do any of the sphere esc's have a reverse mode?

Though I could be wrong, as far as I know they all have reverse.

On the novaks that I own, you can turn the reverse on or off. I am 99% sure the other BL systems are the same way.

For what your looking to do with it, any of the BL systems woll do just fine. They are all of good quality. Buy the one that suits your budget, and that has the features that your looking for.

As Stallard mentioned there is a third option to consider, that being the Castle Mamba Max setup. I have the 5900 system in my T4 and it rocks. Very fast & has been real reliable so far. You can use your PC(usb) to set the ESC the way you would like it. Almost as smooth as a Novak sensored system, just a hint of cogging once in a while. I had to install a wheelie bar to keep the nose down, LOL. All are great products, you can't go wrong with any of them. My son has the Novak 8.5 XBR system in his T3 and it runs well too, we are about even on speed & acceleration. No problems with either system. Good luck.

I have a MM5700 in my FT T4 and MM6900 in FT B44 and they are very smooth and very powerful. The 6900 is a little much for me and my driving skills but still very controllable and don't forget the endless tuning options. They will only be legal in modified class unless you run a sensored motor though.

Alot of the guys who race around here using the LRP TC Comp ESC use a Novak motor with it.

We had a big benefit race here last weekend with 17 stadium trucks starting the 20 minute main and out of the top 10 finishers, all had Novak GTBs with Novak motors except for 5th place had an LRP ESC and a Novak motor and 9th place had LRP ESC and Motor!

Novak domination and reliability in 20 minute races!!! Race Proven!!!!

Mamba Maxx will get it done on the track also. Don't let anyone make you think MM is just for bashing.
