Default NEW Yokomo B-Max

Hi all, i believe that this deserves its own thread.

Yokomo is about to launch a new shaft driven version of the world famous MR-4BX worlds edition. This new car is more entry-level oriented than the usual Yokomo state of the art models. The main competitors of tihs model will be the Tamiya DB-01 and Kyosho ZX5.

The B-Max, as the DB-01 previously did, copys the main design of its "big brother" using the same geometry for the suspension. Instead of the race proven belt transmission new car uses two shaft with central longitudinal motor mount.

All the car is made of composite plastic, more flexible and tolerant with impacts.

Looks good, I'll wait for the "pro" version to come out before I consider replacing my BX.

Good value competitive buggies are what we need more of, like the Tamiya Durga, so I look forward to this one.

so will this be a sign of things to come? Since the BJ4's domination
in design, we have seen the rise of the ZX-5, the D4 and most recently the B44.

Yokomo and Losi's (xx4 and xxx4) have had belt drives for years...

Saying that ... shaft is not a new concept for Yokomo. In the touring car department they have the BD and the SD... with the BD favoured as the "race car"

maybe in time, we will see a "pro spec'ed" model like others have mentioned. Their SD started off as a cheap drift car... with various upgraded incarnations (worlds replica, driftmaster etc etc)

but Jimmy is right, we need more low-mid end affordable 4wds to really
boost the sport.

interesting times ahead!

Ummmm...LOL...the "cheap drift spec" SD definitely came after the SSG and "Black" SD chassis. I have nothing really constructive to add or anything...LOL...just correcting the record.

that's a good looking car. it looks like it could be pretty competetive at a club level right out of the box.

It looks like it's already been driven. The rear right camber link rod end has either been replaced or is bent or both.
