someone should photoshop a dog in the air catching up with the truck about to bite it! Electric is the new Nitro!

My mechanical memories from school tell me that the faster you go, the less stress you have when you land due to small slope.

Off course, you should not go too high, else the slope of the landing will be too hard.

I've had my worse landing with my stock brushed motor that were not able to get decent speed.

Now with a simple Novak 6.5 on my ZX5, jumps are longer and never break anything when landing on the 4 wheels.

If you are skiing for example, you will understand straight forward what I mean.

It's only impressive if you can land it and keep driving.

The motor got hot because it's geared wrong for top speed application! You should use a 31t-33t pinion with the 76t spur and then you should see a significant speed increase with a cooler motor perhaps. Good luck

I'm partial to the Rustler, that's all

If you use a larger pinion then you put more load on the motor which would cause the motor to over heat. I know the rustler is great, and the price is good. However, the speed t just upped the ante. This is good for consumers.

I just got a 30 pinion and will report back for those who are interested.

I know this is a squid post, but I am very impressed with it's speed out of the box.
That is ballastic. However, to compare to the Rustler with that gearing really isn't the same. You have to gear up the Rusty appropriately like running 31/76 or so. I am not sure why you have heat problems. I run a full FLM chassis with larger Talons with pretty high gearing and I have never thermaled the ESC or had a overheating motor.

Default Speed T Squid Update

In search of more speed I installed a 30T pinion. Made 3 passes @74.2 MPH. After each run the motor was still cool to the touch. I am pretty sure this thing will go pass 75 MPH, just need more runway.
