Tires are important. Sounds likes you might have to run different types or compounds as the track conditions change.
Ask around to see if other guys are changing tires or any other changes they are making as the track conditions change.

IMHO you need to have an adjustable set-up that's somewhere between your tacky/soft start of the day and dry/loose end of the day as a happy medium and then use tires for fine tuning. Shock oil and spring choice has to be adjusted from the stock set-up - but a lot of that comes down to the track you're running and the size of the jumps. Smaller jumps, and looser tracks can handle softer set-ups - while tracks with bigger jumps require more dampening.
Personally I'd suggest to get some tires that are designed for dry track conditions like Panther Switch's (http://www.pantherteam.com/index.php...roducts_id=265) or something similar and change to them as the track dries -- and save your T-Bones or Step-Pins for when the better traction is available or when you first get to the track.
hope this helps

Camber is important too. If you are loose coming out of turns, increase negative camber up to about -2, if you are loose on acceleration, decrease the camber. Also, going to lighter weight shock oil 30wt in the rear will increase traction. Make sure the ride height is bones level rear and arms level front. If you have too much steering, try decreasing front toe to 0 degrees, if you have toe out, that could make you loose.

I run the new matt francis set up on my cr with orange front springs instead of red springs, Track conditions are dry and blue groove with more 1/8th size jumps and some pot holes from the buggies, as far as the tacky wet condition i dont have any experience on that type of surface so no help there.

Thanks for your time. He has only been driving for 4 months mostly indoor carpet, now we are moving outside to dirt and we are having trouble finding grip. All of your suggestions will be tried. Does anyone have a chart for spring rates as far as color goes. Also I found a suggestion on cutting down foam tires liners to improve grip on loose tracks.

Find some of the guys that have good traction and find out exactly what tires and foam they are running. When you have no traction it is usually in the tires. Your setup is probably pretty neutral. There's no magic bullet until you get the right tires on the truck. Good luck!
