id personally word go with the 4. the availability of parts is greater. most hobby stores dont have parts for academy. but thats just my point of view from working at a hobby store.

Hey guys, I've had my xxx-4 G+ for almost a month now and I've broken the front wheel pin a few times and I can't seem to find them anywhere. The fronts are slightly shorter than the rears I ended up shortening some from a MIP B4 CVD rebuild kit.

I didn't see anything in the manual that shows the part # for the pin. Does anyone know what the # is and where I can get them?

Here's a picture of the wheel pin:

Thanks.

Five1Nine8Eight, if you have a G+ then you have genuine MIP CVDs and you can get replacement parts from their site.

Sorry I missed this earlier. I gave up on roll pins years ago because they will sanp at all the wrong times. Go to the LHS and buy a pack of piano wire. It will run you about $5 for a pack and it's a lifetime supply, LOL. Use a roll pin for a template and cut solid axle pins. They'll fit in the axle loosely, so be sure you get the wheel on tight. And when you're changing wheels be sure it's over the pit table so you can catch it. I carry a 35 mm film canister with me and just put the pins in there when the wheels are off my car. For the AE CVD's it's 0.062" and I used the same wire for my XXX-4. Take it with you to the LHS and see what size fits best. Make a few spares, teh only real drawback is that if you ever spin a hub you can lose the pin since it doesn't fit tightly like the roll pins do. But I don't think I've ever snapped one.

Hi guys

Which ball cups are stronger and stand the punishment by losi? The white nylon ones, or the yellow ones or the heavy duty grey ones?

Today's virgin run broke one of the camber plastic ball cup... has replaced with the spare original plastic ball cup... lucky the turn buckle still in one piece.

Both the white and grey ones are good...as for me, i'm using the white nylon ones...it's really tough and i like the looks of it...
