By the way, I've been running my Slipper locked on the XXX-4. The slipper is used as a traction aid. WHO HAS A LACK OF TRACTION WITH A 4 WHEEL DRIVE?? Not ME!!! I Don't mind locking it also because with a belt drive, any bind in the drivetrain will just cause the belt to skip... No BIG deal! LOCK that SOB up and pull the trigger.

The mounting of the shocks on the rear of the rear shock tower helps stabilize the car more from what I read earlier in this thread. If you do not already have the new composite shock towers like the ones on the g+ you might want to upgrade because they are quite abit stronger than the ones that came originally on the xxx-4.

Can anyone give me tips on how to setting the xxx-4's shocks??? I seem to have a problem when running mine. Especially when i run through humps or ramps, the rear part of my buggy seems to rebound, almost capsizing. I changed to softer shocks. But do I need to change the shock oil on my rear shocks??? Please need help...

Its not a spring problem, try going up in shock oil and maybe a larger diameter piston.

Can anyone list all the hopups that Trinity released for the XXX4, and are they still producing them? So far, have the steering link, battery brace, and heatsink, but want to find the al. motor clamp and bellcrank arms. What else am I missing?

Good luck finding them on Trinitys website. I've looked, I've emailed them. No response as of yet.

Well I got to run my new XXX-4 G+ this past weekend and all I can say is wow! This is an great handling buggy. It is also a terror down the straight with the 11x2 revolution v2 motor. It also handled the rough whoop section well and jumps excellent. This car is definately a keeper. I let my brother-in-law drive it and now he wants one instead of the B4 he was originally considering. It also proved to be very durable too.

Hey, are there any other brands of wheels that would fit the xxx-4? So far, the wheels available here at our place are Losi wheels only.

Will the BJ4 aluminum spindle carriers work on the XXX4?

http://www.jconcepts.net/shop/produc...products_id/33

For $22 I figure I'll give it a shot.

Default bj4 carriers

The BJ4 carriers will work. Use the hinge pins from the B4, drill and tap 4-40 hole in the bottom of carriers and use a set screw to hold the hinge pin. Make sure you grind down on the hinge pin where the set screw is to help it from sliding out. Use spacers in front and behind carrier, they are narrower than the xxx4s. The hardest part is getting the CVD through the carriers. The CVD pins that go into the outdrives will not fit throught the carrier. You either have to 1. grind the pins down 2. build the CVD with the carriers or 3. (which I did) grind the inside of the carrier so the pins just clear.
Another idea I was going to try was to use the B3 hinge pins with E-Clips, not sure if they are lon enough though. Sorry if the instructions are hard to follow. If anybody needs pictures, email me at [email protected] and I will get you pictures. Guy from my local track showed me this, gotta give credit where its due thanks Neil

The xxx4 is now really fun to drive not having to worry about breaking hub carriers anymore.

Dan
