Default Speed Controllers

Since the car is not in my hands yet, I can't examine the mechanics of the drive train. Is it possible for this car to go in reverse? I haven't purchased my speed controller yet, and before I go and buy one with reverse, I thought I should find out if belt drives can handle that.

Thanks

Default Shocks

Anyone know where I can get threaded shock bodies? I tried Ebay already.

Thanks!

The slipper on my xxx4 seems to tighten up whilst I run it, I can even see the nut turning when I test it, has anyone experienced this as well? any possible fixes?

I have seen this before, all I can suggest is loctite on the threads to keep it from easily moving.

What kind of nut do you have? If it's a regular nut, then replace it with a locking nut. If it's a locking nut, replace it with a new locking nut (the plastic inside them wears out after a while). Here's a picture of locking nuts (not sure if this is the size you need or not) http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...rodID=LOSA6302

Hmm that nut may be a tad small.............
The slipper on the XXX4 and G+ are very large and thin. They have no room on the nut for nylon so thread lock is the only option.

Be careful. Use blue locitite and use a small amount. I tried this recently and used a small amount of blue. It worked, but when I tried to tighten it up a little, I couldn't. I had to remove the entire slipper assembly and use vise grips to hold the slipper while I used a crescent wrench to turn the nut. I think I used a little too much blue. I'd just weep it into a couple of threads.

Default Nose

Well I finally recieved my XXX-4!

I love it, except for one problem. Every jump the blasted thing goes over, it comes in nose first and flips. Anywhere from 5mph to full speed, it still does it. I've tried hitting the jumps at full speed, tried accelerating up the jump, and tried letting off the throttle and then punching it a few inches before the lip (which would, on previous cars I've owned, pull the nose up and keep the car level in the air).

The car balances at about the leading edge of the motor, which is actually behind the midpoint of the car, which to me means it should either fly level, or land on the rear wheels (again, that's how all my previous cars have behaved).

These same jumps work for my 2wd buggy, my 2wd truck, my 1/8 buggy, and even my bike.

All I can guess is it has something to do with the suspension. The front shocks are stiffer than the rear ones, can this cause the problem? It has pink springs in the rear, and blue in the front.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

If the front is down whilst in the air try hitting the gas to bring the nose up, and if the nose is up try hitting the brakes whilst in the air, but as far as setup i don't know as i am only a new owner as well.

Ok, and if I'm already hitting the jump at full throttle, where do I get this extra "gas" to hit and bring the front end up?

Well if you are hitting the jump flat out, just hold the gas on when in the air and that will still have the same effect, but not as much if you were hitting the jump say half throttle, but i don't race on tracks were you need to hit jumps flat out to make them, so all you are relying on there is for the suspension to do all the work and if your setup isn't right it will always kick the back up, but i try not to hit the jump flat out, and as you are going up the face of the jump then accelerate, but do this up the whole face of the jump not just the last half.
