Well.. unfortunately this late in the game you are probably looking at ebay..

You might have to switch to the Losi dogbones that the XX-4 came with.. every part is separate and they a have plastic coupler for a u-joint... they also require different bearings.

or

The dreaded LCDs that nobody likes..

Pretty much sucks...

I love LCDs, can keep them together with very little work.

Default Tips for a XXX-4G

Hey guys, Ben from Australia here,

I am loking to buy a secondhand XXX-4G after running a XXX-CR for the last 2 years.

Is there anything I should know about this car before I buy one? Is it hard to buy parts for off the internet (I dont mind international postage)? Is it a discontinued car as far as parts are concerned? What spares should I be getting as I only race 10-15 times a year?

Thanks in advance.

Ben

If you really want CVDs for the front of your XXX-4 there is a way.

The XXX-4 front CVD bone is 3.268" long. The XXX-T rear CVD bone is 3.56" long. Get XXX-T rear CVD bones and take .292 inches out the center and solder them together using a brass tubing sleve. Lest you think "this couldn't possibly work", here is a pic of a CVD bone I extended in this manner. The solder joint has held up to such heavy use that the crospin hole in the end of the bone is worn to more than twice its original size.

People have used this idea for custom length CVD bones for Nitro spring cars and the have held up fine.

I also have some BK bones for the front of the XXX-4 for sale in this listing:

In my last race, the LCD's, I lasted even a 5 minute qualifying heats.
So far, I have found CVD's in European stores, I am waiting to receive them.

Thanks to all for your interest!!!
As for using CVD's of the LOSI XXXT, it looks like to me a slightly difficult repair for my skill.

You can safely buy both cars!
Spare in general, not missing..only with the CVD ' s front, you're going to have difficulty.

Thank you!
You have a PM.

... and yet the solder joint is still holding.

All it really needs is to have another crosspin hole drilled in the end of the bone and the drive pin (not seen but also worn) replaced and it will be good to go for another year!

Default XXX-4G Owner

Gday All,

My name is Ben and I have just picked up a pre-loved XXX4-G.

I am very exitied to run this car just for fun or in light club competition. Do you have any suggestions or advice for running this car?

Should i pick up some spare F&R A-arms? Steering hubs? Belt?

Ben

The fronts you are only going to find at LHS with old stock or on eBay... the rears are available from MIP in the new style without a set screw. They are the same as the CVDs used on the XXX-CR.

Default Losi Woes

Got back into RC about a year ago and since I loved Losi back in the 90's picked up a XXX4G+ w GTB 6.5 Brushless. WOW! Insane run times w Lipos and the SPEED!! Oh yeah. Love this car but does Losi even care about 4WD anymore? Can't believe how hard it is to get parts for this car. I know RC has lost a lot of popularity but what do you expect when you can't run your car for over a month because you can't get parts?? Never ran Associated before, and don't think I would like the Shaft-Drive 4wd's but looks like I might actually get to enjoy the car not just look at it w some little stupid broken piece I can't fix! So bummed.
Anyone looking for a XXX4G+ w Aluminum Front & Rear Main Blocks, Aluminum Rear Pivot Blocks, Lundsford Titanium all around, lots of extra parts (but not the ones I need) Have a XX4 (not graphite) that only needs some belts and a slipper shaft
XXX4 Needs: CVD dogbone and pin
Front Diff Cover
Chassis is good but has a few minor issues and is converted for Lipo
Don't really want to sell but what's the point?

Thumbs up

Parts may be hard to get at your lhs, but they're still plentiful online. Between LosiPartsHouse, Stormer, and Ebay you should be able to find anything for either of the Losi 4WD's.
