They do make on for a xxx4, i believe the only difference is the length. I have one on my xxx-4 with the hd belt kit. There should be two part#'s, one for a xxx-s and one for the xxx-4.

What they said ^^^^

Belt used to be green, but is yellow now. XXX-S also has a yellow belt now. The one you want is LOSA3213. Ask me how I know...

I ran the original green one for two years before some crap got in there and caused it to start fraying. If the tension is set right, it won't skip much or snap on you.

I think I figured out the problem with my steering knuckles hitting the a-arm. Looks like the aluminum pivot block for the front is like a 10degree and the car I am using to copy has a much lower pivot block.

What do most people run?

If you can find them get a 7.5 degree. cheddabob made some several months back, might see if he can make you one. Otherwise i could start parting out my xxx4

Hello all I am in the market for a 4 wheel offroad buggy. Ive always ran losi so naturally I am looking at xxx4 but Ive heard from several people the the xxx4 is a very fragile car and would not be the choice car to get. My question to all of you is if this is true and if so what thing have you done or can be done to deef up the chassis. Thanks guys I would appreciate any info you have I want to do anything I can to avoid buying a B44.

my advise...
i have both a xx-4 and a xxx-4. pretty much all 4wd's are fragile. i can guarentee if its been a while since you drove one or if its yur first time you will break parts. i broke a lot when i first got my xxx-4 and it was even on some of the most standard landings that it would break. even if you looked at it wrong it would break. basically just learn to let "it" drive you. think about whats going on and you will be fine.

good luck

I'm not sure but regarding durability I've heard that Tamiya's TRF501X being pretty tough.

I'm having gearing issues. I have not been able to get to the track and so have been mucking around with the xxx-4 on the street. It seems a little on the slow side.

I have a 19T Double Reedy that gets the B4 cranking, but not so much with the XXX. Now I know it's 4wd, but I may be undergeared.

I have the 92 spur on, with a 21 tooth pinion. Is that about right? If so i'll keep mucking arond with the slipper and diffs. First time with a 4wd!

I know it's track dependant, yadda yadda, but looking for a start point. The motor is pretty warm after 5 minutes, but I expect that for a 19 Turn pushing a 4wd.

I currently have a VXL ESC and am running an older neostar1 I believe it's a 8.5 brushless sensored motor. I have a 92 spur and I was running a 19t pinion and I just put in a 17 and really like it. But keep in mind that's in my backyard track if I went to the local track I would go back to the 19 maybee even 20 if the motor temps are good.

I tell ya I was weary about keeping my losi xxx-4 (aquired 2) I stripped on apart and built one up. I lept hearing how fragile they are. I have beat the crap out of mine non stop and so far I have broken one shock tower and a front diff cover (which was my fault) forgot to put the bottom diff screws back in.

I swear my xxx-cr and xxx-t broke more than this buggy.

The main issues I have is my belt. I basically cannot use reverse for fear of the belt coming off the tension arm.

Do you have the updated belt tensioner? It works much better then the one that comes with the car originally!
