In my opinion the design of the slipper unit on this buggy was not designed with brushless/lipo power in mind. From what I can tell so far when using a high powered brushless system on the xxx4, your better off locking down the slipper. It slips much too easy if you try to truly use it with alot of horsepower. However, we are still in the testing phase and may draw different conclusions regarding the slipper in the future. For now I have it locked down, but may try something different soon. I am NOT saying that everyone needs to lock theirs down by any means, but that is what I chose to do ...for now.
In my opinion there is probably enough "give" in the belt drive system and slippage in the diffs that locking the slipper isn't that big of a deal and may very well be the best way to avoid race ending issues or hassles.
Time will tell...
Overall, I think I am going to like the car and it is proving itself competitive locally with the other brands too. And this is coming from a long time AE racer.
Im glad you are like the car, have you driven a b44? Are you running a one-way and what type of surface is the track you are running on?

The One-way will allow you to swing the rear end around with braking into the corner. A diff up front will cause the car to push a bit into a corner. I run my belt a bit tight, dont want it skipping on the pullies. And run a locked slipper and make sure u put in new slipper pucks too. Im also running 10 degrees of front kickup and 3 degrees of squat in the rear, but that u can play with. LOL

On mine Im running 32.5 front oil with 0.0060 limiting. And in the rear Im running 30 weight no limiting. Also 57 front pistons and 56 rear pistons. Seems to work real good. Wat Sway bar u running?

Wat r u guys doing to fix rear shock towers. I keep breaking mine. Thx

I am running an Orion 3600 Lipo with this exact setup for suspension. It works very well! As for sway bar,I'm running the stock one, it does help alot on the 1/8th scale outdoor track I run on.

As for rear shock towers, I have yet to break one, I would say maybe try doubling it up(Not sure if its even possible like the front) but you will end up putting your chassis at risk of breaking and a tower is much cheaper and quicker to change out then a chassis.

I think you meant to say .060"

As far as rear shock towers you are running the G+ ones right, i think it would be close to impossible to even find the old original ones. But what i did is i cut the corners off since i run the middle hole on my shock towers, if that makes sense. It basically makes the tower about 8mm narrower on each side and less likely to catch in ocrc's clay. I am not doubling up the rear tower yet, but thats because i dont have another one in decent enough shape to use (Are you the reason i couldnt find an extra one the other day , but really was looking for one) But i may not double up the rear tower with this new set-up, i may even run the single one up front again eventhough i just got the shck angle fixed the other night.

which one is it Loose or high traction. Im guessing maybe loose dirt that bites well? What area are you having trouble with? What is your current set-up? and is your track bumby, lots of small jumps, large jumps, any flat landings or can you easily down side the jumps? Have you read the set-up tis in the back of the manual? Or are you looking for more advanced stuff?

Track is not real bumpy there is good bite ,surface gets a little loose not the car. Haven't used the xxx4 in couple years drove my truck on it last week and want to break out the 4 wheeler but not sure if the car will change much with the lipo have stock setup now not sure about adding weight and where on car. Medium size jumps some flat landings
Just looking for a decent starting point

hey guys and gals, sorry to throw this in here but i figured it was worth mentioning.....

a few local racers approached me a week or two ago asking if i would machine some 7.5deg front alum hinge pin holders since i guess losi or whoever only makes a 5/10 deg one..... now i am making a small batch (6 of em.... but 3 are accounted for) and am wondering if there is any kind of "market" for this? i have made and sold probably 25-30 alum. rb-5 front bulkheads and on here and this is something i can make in my downtime at work w/o a problem....

i should have them finished either tomorrow or friday and am looking at selling em for around $17 shipped? please post here or pm me if your interested at all

btw~ they will be made out of 6061 aluminum, so no junk here

also.... i have made a few "lipo plates" for a xxx-4..... slotted so it fits in the grooves for the battery slots and roughly .217 thou thick so it makes just about any normal lipo pack about the same weight as a 4200.... i am trying to locate a local driver that has one still and get pics as i havent made any new ones yet.

again i'm just testing interest on said items. i have also made caster blocks for xx/xxx4's and can possibly make a set or two again..... but they would be in the $50 range as they are VERY time consuming and i really dont want to make anymore..... but will if people will pay my asking price.

any questions feel free to fire away and again, i am going to try and get pics up in the next day or two

Oh Snap! You my friend can put me down for the 7.5 front pin and maybe some of the other items. Pics of the finished product would probably help with sales possibly.

Product pics would help. That 7.5 aluminum front would be a gem.

i will search around and see if i can find the orig rb-5 bulkhead thread.... just to show an example of my work at least

again, i will have actual product pics as soon as tomorrow. i appreciate the interest so far as well

briguy..... i will NOT be making the inner pin cup...... it;s just too small and intricate for the time i have to work on this stuff. as of right now i am only making the 7.5 deg brace, and maybe some lipo plates.... or like i said if i get a few people to commit to some caster blocks i MAY make a small batch of them.

i have a few pm's out to local guys that have caster blocks on their cars, as well as that lipo plate so again i'm working on it

but keep the pm's coming as well as the questions
