i was told that the belt skipping like that under hard braking is ok that it is an almost indestructible belt. we have a long straight and i hit the brakes so this car basically stops dead to make the sharp turn.
i have had it like this for about 17 times on the track with no wear so far. i was also told you can run the belt very loose (which i chose not to do i did not see a difference with friction) so that the drivetrain would have almost no friction at all.
this winter though i will be lending my car out to a better driver to run in the 4 wh class. any info on handling setup's will be passed along i will probably be buying the oneway for him to use so we will see if there is a difference.

Update: My oneway hasn't broke since doing the adjustments I did to it that I posted a few pages back.

Yippee!!
My xxx4 g-plus will be here this week!
I have some tire questions; 4wd mod will be a new class at our track next year,
Our track is moist loam, losi and pro-line step pins hook-up the best with 2wd buggys, stk truck and mod truck. what do you guys recommend, losi 4wd ifmar pins? i would like to get a tire with more pins in them than the current buggy step pins, like the trucks have. but haven't been able to find any. taper pins aren't deep enough. i have seen the tires advertised on ballistic buggys website, they look great, however, i do not get e-mail replys on who may sell them in the usa.
ideas?
Thanks !!!

Thanks! I'll give them a try.
What turn motors and gearing does most everyone run? Is the gearing chart in the manual reliable?

spongebob;
Let us know if you run to any problems building or maybe what mods you do to the kit.

I am coming to Socal in two weeks and want to run my XXX-4, but I don't see any results for this class on thier website.
Do they run 4wd during the week there? I would much rather bring my 4wd versus my 2wd.
Also what tires and inserts should I bring for socal?
Thanks,
Nick

Adams44: You would be better off bringing your 2wd, there will be much more participation in that class. Or if you have a touring car as well, take that too. It isn't unusual to see 100+ entries for touring on Saturdays. For specs on tires, front and rear, check with Todd Hodge or Adam Drake on Trinity Tech Talk for recommendations.

I'm pretty sure the tires of choice for 2wd there are pink X-2000's with grey trinity foam in the rear and silver 7202's up front. Go here and see if there is a phone number you can call. http://www.socalrc.com/

No problems building the new G+ other then the diffs are a little more involved compared to associated which is what I am used to. The instructions on the ride height are a little confusing though, I assume they mean set the rear arms level and the front arms just a bit below level??
