Make sure you use a 4-40 tap on the holes in the covers at the chassis and the bumper. Alot of times a small crack develops just from assembly. This helps alot.

I ran the XXX4 with a trakpower 4900, talk about awesome. very little modification to battery tray needed. also just used other side of battery strap, flat side. the power was awesome, i felt like i was running matched cells except the runtime was ridiculous. nice upgrade, easily 2 heats on one battery.

Where would be a good place to start gearing with a Novak 5.5? FYI, Need more bottom end than top. Thanks

Oh you'll have plenty of bottom no matter how you gear it. Start at 18 then temp it from there.

Dan,

Are the team guys now driving the XXX4 or have some still hung on to their XX4's?

SMcpot

I think there was a XXX-4 in the A at the Cactus Classic just held this past weekend. I think the Team Drivers are all wheeling the XXX-4.

Glad to hear there's still some life left in this platform. Dug mine out (one of the first made-of-glass plastic cars) and have just added all the G+ hopups and the XXX-S/CR rear end mods. Gonna start with the "worlds" setup I found on the 4WDRC forums and see how she goes. Also picked up a pretty dialed XX4WE off the 'bay just in case
