Default Mamba owners speek up!

As the title says "Mamba owners speek up" Does castle make good brushless motors? And is it worth the extra sixity dollars to get an LRP or novak system?

Depends on use. If you want to run a brushless in ROAR event, you must have sensored motor. Mamba, Novak, LRP ESCs are all OK for ROAR.

Yes....They are the best sensor-less motor and speedo combo around.......I run them in the RC Pro Series.......I use the 4600kv motor most of the time with plenty of power for the normal dirt around the country.....packed and sticky tracks I use the 6900kv and hang on.....7700kv if you dare?

Try the new Sidewinder we just came out with if you want to save a little bread....still a great system just limited on a few things......

Mamba are the best combo and best value for money in the whole electric rc market.
So many people have had issues with LRP and novak are alright if you want to cook a egg on the motor

ROAR is simply trying to watch out for the guys who have been in the r/c business for a long time. Alot of these battery matchers & motor tuners probly have contracts that last several years. When these contracts run out these motor tuners & battery matchers will give ROAR the green light. As far as the mamba max is concerned it is a great motor//esc combo for the price. In the short term li//bl setups may set many of these companies back a bit. However, r/c should boom because of this technology. I believe that you will see more top tier drivers due to the fact that guys can run the most technical classes for hours at a time w/out worry & w/ a budget in mind. I mean, 20 nimh packs & 5 brushed motors isn't cheap. However, 2 lipos & a mamba sidewinder 4600 is a great way to turn laps w/ a 1/10th buggy.

No complaints here. I run Mambas in everything, have been for a couple years. 4600 in 2 T4's, 4600 in an RB5, & 5700 in 4WD. With the new firmware I think they are just as smooth as any sensored motors out there. I don't race at any ROAR events, so I don't worry about that. Best bang for your buck FO SHO!!!!

I use a Mamba Micro and CC motor in my sons RC18, a Sidewinder in my T4 w/ the 5700 motor, and a Mamba Max in my Crawlers and in my RC8e conversion until the Monster Max is available.

Yeah, I guess I've been Knighted!

You simply need a ROAR approved motor and thats all. The Orion, SpeedPassion and Trinity motors all can be run thru a sensorless system. Some of the companies promote that the motors can be run sensored or sensorless. The SpeedPassion esc combo can run both sensored or sensorless.

As far as reliability, price and technology the Mamba Max system is unbeatable and throw in the new Sidewinder and you and killer one two punch. You can see Castle is on to something as all other manufactures are trying to scramble to make high end systems at cheaper prices.

I run both novak and MM. I have had nothing but problems with the3 CC systems I have, the novak(3.5r) is flawless in my book.

dont buy, i just recently sold mine because of too much power. for bashing yes. for racing no. tried tuning it down with the latest software but still way too much punch. but i have to admit they have really good support

go novak. i was running much faster laptimes(atleast 10 sec.) much smoother and doesnt screw up your tranny

Mamba Max all the way baby. Im not sure what problems the guy above me has had with CC, but all i can say is that these systems are very reliable and provide awesome performance. Cant beat it for the money. I got mine from B.P.P. for 175.00 which included free shipping. Combine this system with a quality Lipo pack such as the Team Orion 3600 and you've got yourself a killer system.

Castle motors are great, and they will get even better in the future with the plans they have...

For mod classes... ROAR needs to get with the times and relax the rules to allow the Castle and other similar motors that don't happen to fit all the specs that were incorporated into the rules, based on the "novak" standard.

For stock/spec classes... we are probably stuck with what we have, and that's understandable.

So yes... the Mamba motors are very good, even though they are different. Solder tabs would be a nice update though.

I dunno, i use lrp sphere 07's. 3 actually and havent had any problems and they dont get hot like that one dude said. You get what you pay for, You racing get a sensored system it has more control. You bashing get the cheaper mamba's.

My cars are super smooth with tons a rip on punch setting 1.

lrp/novak/speed passion Take your pick. That's my opinion and i only race.
