Default Kyosho ZX5 RTR problems

Hi, just bought a ZX5 RTR after many years of stuffing around with nitro buggies, would have to say so far i am very impressed with electric 4wd buggies as i am sick of tuning nitro engines. My prob is i am trying to fit my futaba 2.4 receiver in the car but the esc wont work, i have steering bit no throttle. It works fine with a tamiya esc but the perfex ka15 just wont when hooked up to the futaba receiver. Anyone help me here??????????

Sounds to me like the ESC is blown or perhaps a bad plug on it? Thes the ESC light up? Usually it will mean an ESC problem though.

Is the light on the reciever turning green or is it staying red? if it is green did you try to setup the speedo after putting in the new reciever?

Works fine with the perfex receiver, just wont work when i try i the 2.4ghz receiver. The receiver light goes green. The light on the ESC dose not come on or does it allow me to enter the setup mode. Maybe they only work as a pair? I want to put a mamba Max in it anyway, any suggestions on what Lipo bats to put in it, poor old RTR wont know what hit it!!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha

I mean no offense with this question. Is the speedo plugged in correctly? I dont know what kind of ends are used on teh kyosho stuff for the receiver. I have plugged in the non futaba plugs in backwards many times because i wasnt paying attention.

Found the prob, the Perfex KA15 15turn ESC will only work on PPM mode on a Futaba 3pk radio with 2.4ghz module. I tried 5 other ESC's, Novak, Xray, Tamiya and all worked fine in all PPM, PCM and HRS modes. Thanks for the replies guys.
