Sorry about that. I cannot put letters in the price with the program we are using and I cannot put $0 for legal reasons.... SO, $10,000 is basically price to be announced and I can see them from a mile away on the backside of the webpage.

Sorry for the confusion. I figured that number would be high enough that no one would question it.

Doc's car was dialed. With out the gremlins he had a fantastic run going. I think you need holes in the body or a fan. I had both and was at 127 all day. Any way for those of you waiting this car it will be worth it.

I have heard that the car is very close to the Mugen. Is it the old Mbx5 or the 5r?

In general, the Caster cars were based on the Mugen... starting 3-4 years ago, and some parts have been updated like the 5 and 5r. BUT... Caster has small things that are different and we have "86'd" a couple of parts that were made to be like the 5r because they don't work as well on the Caster car. (nitro)

New changes are in the works for Caster and it has nothing to do with what Mugen is doing... and small things are being tweaked and improved whenever possible.

One of the cool things about the car is that you can get a full upgrade to a C-hub front end VERY cheap, if that's what you like. A future version may well come with the C-hub as standard.

Thanks Jenkins... I agree that I should have at least put some holes in the body, and a fan would have been a wise choice in hindsight. I guess I was torture testing the poor MM.

btw, Jenkins 8ight was running good too.

Can larger motors fit in the Castor's motor mount? For Eg. Plettenbergs or Neu's?

I designed it around the Neu finned can motors (44mm) so it can take the fat ones... Hacker C50... Neu... finned Medusa...

I have never seen the Pletty in person. Do you know the diameter of the Max/Big Max?

Of course the smaller 36mm motors will work fine too... but won't be flush on the chassis. I would suggest using a finned cooling sleeve with these motors anyway, and this car has room for that.

That's some great news..thx glassdoctor

The Pletty's dimensions are:

Maxximum with fan
diameter = 43mm
length = 70mm (without considering rotor length)

BigMaxximum with fan
diameter = 43mm
length = 80mm (without considering rotor length)

Diameter-wise they are comparable but I think the length of the BigMax is longer than others in its league.

Cool. I was pretty sure they were similar to the C50 can, but didn't recall exactly what it was.

btw, the chassis is is milled out 2mm deep where to the motor is, to help keep the CG low, so a Neu smooth can motor (40mm) will actually be flush with the main chassis surface although it would have a 2mm air gap under it. I may have a couple simple spacer plates made, to fit under the motor and fill the gap for a 36 or 40 mm motor.

It will be nice to finally get the production car and give more details etc.

The web site makes reference to a pre-order list somewhere. I can't find it. Can someone point me to it?

You might want to consider making the list a bit more prominent on the site too.

Cheers,
Scotty P.
