I remember seeing info about the Thundertechrc racing vehicle for a long time, but the price appeared to be quite prohibitive. They also were going with what i guess was a more scale rear suspension setup too.

I am very curious to see how well this would handle against the Thudertech racing version.

THis actually could be an interesting spec style class in a way as far as tires go.

On the Traxxas forums they said to expect the price to be similar to the Stampede. So around $200...

I know someone with the thundertech truck. It's alright I guess. The chassis is new, but the rear axle is straight off an already existing truck, and the wheels are from a Tamiya F350 hi-lift.

so it's not exactly an original design.

I e-mailed Traxxas in regards to when the Slash is coming out and how much it will be. Here's the response I received:

Hello Jason,

It is scheduled for release at the end of May. It will probably sell in US
hobby shops for around $200 to $250.

Best regards,
Stephen Lindholm,

Im not trying to flame you, but just wanted to say that traxxas is one of the most innovative companys in R/C and with its RTRs and many things they have done in the past and current, are very responsible for getting people into the hobby. also their involvement in the real racing scene, has helped greatly.

just something to think about.

Very well said. My first truck was a traxxas stampede and five years later 15+ Cars and trucks gone. I still have my stampede and now it's my 8 year old sons time to bash it.

wait it almost looks like you could put the bumpers, body, and wheels and tires on a stampede and have basically the same truck... its a sick idea and all. it looks awsome and ill probably own one but it still looks like a wide chassis on a stampede...

How much did it cost them for the thundertech?

Doesn't suprise me about the axle or wheels and tires however.
