Honestly all of the newer higher end trucks are good. Just buy your favorite brand, put your favorite electronics in it, and it will be competitive.

If your just getting into mod truck then I would vissit your local track & see what the others are running. You should be able to get setup help from the fast guys. As far as motors are concerned something like a gtb 7.5 or a mamba 5700 should be all the motor you will ever need for mod truck.

Any platform w/ the right adjustments can compete. Just make sure that there is a way you can get a well setup car if you show up to the track w/ it.

Tell the people who win huge races w/ a car that they are too inconsistant please. Just pick up what ever is the most popular at your local track.

everyone has different driving styles.

For me, I can't drive a graphite T4 (chassis plastic of course) to save my life. Wayy too twitchy for me. But a plastic one I can do just fine.

I would say if you can, see if you can test drive some of the vehicles first before making your decision. Offer the guys who are lending you the vehicle parts if you break them and there shouldn't be any issues.

At least with the test driving thing, you can get an idea of what to expect.
