Sorry to hear. Would have liked to come for a weekend event sometime. Milwaukee to Indianapolis would have been about a 5 1/2 hour drive.

Man...this really sucks to hear. Planet was awesome when it was wet. Mike you did a great job with the place....just the past year electric turnouts have been hurting everywhere around here.

When the economy turns bad, the first thing to go is the entertainment $. It never made sense to me that Indianapolis, the "Racing capitol of the World" couldn't support an R/C track. But being the "Foreclosure Capitol of The US" doesn't help either.

Thanks for all your hard work Mike, Your a class act and Planet is a first rate facility.

So true about the economy. Mostly this and every other Indy area track closes because its "racers" cant support a track for more than a couple of years. That and the rent on the building is OUTRAGEOUS

Crud I cannot make that one, Golfland opens the 12th.
I defintly do not want to miss the opening date, I always race opening day.

Too many people think they're born with driving skills, get in over their head, and walk away blaming everything but themselves. You can lead them to water, but...

CEFX in Michigan hosted the 2007 carpet nats, and just closed. Seems like a big race like these would boost a track's visibility. As a displaced Hoosier Planet had been part of our Holiday routine for the past couple of years, damn.

Best Wishes Michael.

WOW....another one for the books! R/C tracks are a hard place to MAKE money....much less to stay above water. Planet was a cool place to race. Hopefully something will pop up soon!!

WOW........Real bummer. I just bought a B4 to run this week too!!!!

Don't feel too bad Mike, two of the best RC tracks in the Orange County area in LA. have fallen because of real estate issues as well.

The biggest asset you have left is the "Planet RC" reputation and you can take that with you to move on to another better location and building. If your interested in hearing some ideas...email [email protected]

cheers

It's been almost 5 years since I was last at that track, but it was great then and has only grown. Sorry to hear that the local club racing program wasn't able to keep the venue sustained...best of luck to the electric off roaders in the region.

LOL John. Whole thing just sucks. We'll get something going here for next winter if not before that.

This is sad news indeed... I guess I'm glad I got to attend the 2006 ROAR Mod Nats there.... I believe former AE factory driver Scott Burns owned it at the time... Everyone was very cool and friendly at the race... especially Scott. I hope that the situation can be salvaged and that somehow America's Racing Capital doesn't lose its only indoor Off-Road track!
