Default Kyosho 7.5 Kanai II ed.

Hey all,

Been eying the 1/8th scale buggies and was wondering what your thoughts are on the Kyosho, and the new Mugen MBX5. I've narrowed the choices between those two ...

Anything that separates one from the other?

Find friends who owns those buggies....drive it....then decide.
You will have bias opinions if you just ask......and those opinions doesn't really worth anything unless you yourself try it and see which car suits your driving style.

I'm sure the Mugen buggy will be awesome, but having driven the Kanai 2, I can say that you wont be disapointed buying it. Either buggy is a good choice, you can win with either one, or you can lose with either one. All depends on your skill and setup.

I only have the opportunity to test out a Kanai; wish I could test out both!

BUt yeah, it seems to be the general opinion that both are just as good

Myself I have a k2 and for me I cant see there can be a better buggy, this thing just does whatever I want it to do. And it seems to be very durable. I also have a 9.5 pro that I usually race because I was waiting on some clutch parts for my k2 and It is also a very good car, but I finally got my parts for my k2 and man its awsome. I havent ran a mbx5 yet but I have been hearing good things about them. I'll find out this weekend we are having a big race and I guess we will see who is king k2 or mbx5

No one can tell you which one is better. If you can't drive the Mugen, just get the K2. The reason I say this is because there have been tons of people who have jumped from the Kyosho to the Mugen and at least just as many who have tried the Mugen and decided to stay with the Kyosho. Both are very, very good. I'm getting my X5 this week. I have an XR Works and my friends drive Kyoshos. I've driven the K1 and K2. In my opinion, I agree with what most people have said in general when comparing the two...the K2 handles very smoothly but my Mugen steers way better. If the X5 handles like the K2 and steers like the XR, then I know I will have chosen the right one for me.

Sounds like a plan ... I know its a pain to have to read all the posts *which is better* ... bt in all honestly every opinion helps out when you don't know much about the class (1/8).

I own an MTX3, and NTC3 .. out of the two, I chose the NTC3 for regular usage .. my Mugen sits on the shelf. Why? Not because the NTC3 is a revolutionary design of the Mugen -the Mugen looks just plain mean compared to the NTC3- but for its simplicity. It just gets the job done no questions asked.

Its a pain to properly maintain the Mugen I have right now .. takes forever to do a thorough job. What I'm afraid of with the MBX5, but if its a much better kit .. I could probably put up with the extra hassle
