Orion has a very good reputation, have a lot of race experience. Lots of them at our track. Highly recommended by my fairly large local hobby shop. The 3600 has their highest C rating, which is an indiaction of its ability to deliver current and thus power. What's not to like? Well, except I paid 100 for mine. So it sounds pretty sweet to me!

Cheers

Yea Orion 3600's are sick, They rip. The 4800's last longer and have great punch too. I have 2 4800's but i am definitly picking up a 3600. I dont know how you are with your batterys but these batterys take the place of multiple packs, I went from 10 nimh packs to 2 lipos.I am running 2 classes and its nice not having to worry so much about the packs. These Batterys always feel the same too.

You got any questions Ill be there on sunday.

well right now all my packs are matched.....one ep 4600 and 5 other 3300's. now does the 3600 last as long as a regular 3600mah battery? also would a novak gtb be able to run the 3600?

Due to the Lipos drasticly lower internal resistance and slightly higher voltage you will get more run time out of the lipo.

If your gtb has Lipo cutoff, Just set it and you will not have any problems. If it doesn't you can still run it but you must make sure you never run the car dead. As soon as it looses it's punch pull off!

+1 for Trakpower

Tomorrow will be my first time running a Lipo. I got the Orion 4800. I'm tempted to get one more to be set for a long time.

the orion 3200's are actually pretty good. i replaced my old (but great shape) ib3600's with them and the orions kick their butt on the track.

i saw your other thread about your problems with nimh that may or may not be related to your charger... i wouldn't get lipos till you get that straightened out.

Support your local track! If you want to go Lipo, talk to Betts. I just picked up an Orion 3600 on Sunday. It is my Third pack. I've made the switch and have no intentions of going back.

If you don't support the place where you race, you won't have it for very long.

I'll toss in another recommendation for Trakpowers. I've been running them in my vehicles for about a year now and wouldn't trade them for any other hard cased Lipo on the market.

I have 2 trakpower 4900's and love them. I'd recommend them over the orion 4800 simply because they are as good as the orion (if not better spec wise) and are about $20 less.

Well, I was fortunate enough to visit Hong Kong recently and raided its renowned Kwong Wa Street (which is know for the 20 - 25 Hobby shops in and around it). There I managed to score a bunch of ORION 4800 LiPo packs for about $85.00 each. Definitely the score of the year for me so far.
