The B44 and HB's car is very similar and I think they are the two fastest cars out. They are a lot more durable than any other 4wd car out. When i went to the Winterblast race 2 weeks ago in Albion out of the 17 cars I never saw a shock tower break on a b44. I watched Robbers wheel the D4 one weekend at planet before CRCRC's Midwest race and it looked great as well. I dont think you could go wrong with either.

if you spend $300-$400 on any kit now days your getting a decent car. as for durability.....drive to your ability and you shouldn't have any problem with anything. i've been in rc on and off for about 6 years now and every time i break something its usually due to me pushing the car beyond my driving ability. i'm by no means a great driver or rc expert but like many others, i've seen guys get pissed off cause they break stuff, well maybe slow down a bit and drive to your ability.

Currently I have a B44 and it is a great buggy, a friend on mine has the Academy and likes it, and I used to have the Laxer zx5.

I like the B44 because I am an associated fan, but the Kyosho was great while I had it. My only gripe with the Lazer was that it was tight for the electronics under the body. My gripe with the B44 is saddle pack batteries.

Its all what brand you like the best, and which ever you LHS stocks the most parts for - unless you just have a reserve of parts.

I have owned XXX-4, XXX-4 G+, BJ4 and B44. B44 would of been the best out of them. My mate owned a XX-4 W.E and I found it to be excellent, it should be the buggy out by Losi, not the XXX-4 but that is what you get when you build a 4wd buggy off a sedan platform

For certain tracks the xxx4 g+ when set up right can be really good. I just got mine out of retirement and I am really digging it. Its one car where you MUST run the one-way to get steering out of it. The fact that its based off a tourer has little affect on anything.

The XX-4 is based off the Street Weapon, the XXX-S' predecessor.

XX-4 was out before the Street Weapon, Street Weapon was based off the XX-4 (offroad platforum) and performed like crap. Think Losi gets the hint? Offroad & Onroad aren't the same

Let's hope so. Although they were trying it again with the JRX-S, luckily the idea was scrapped. Kind of bad in a way, as Losi is now one of the major R/C companies that lacks a modern competitive 4WD.

I had a XXX-4, and while it wasn't a bad performer, the front end was hopelessly fragile.

My xx-4 ran great and was durable but very hard to work on. Luckily I didnt have to do much.

My B44 was one of the easiest kits to build. Its also very tough but at my track I do not believe it is faster than the xx-4. It does have the best parts support in my area as everyone runs one. If you dont carry much spares or are new and would need setup help the B44 is probably for you.

My 501x and 501XWE are very different from one another. The WE is by far the easiest 4WD for me to drive. It is very tough but the exposed diffs require more maintenance. The regular 501x I really have not devoted much time to so I cant really comment on it.
