I love the smaller lighter size of the mars case. The smaller LCD also extends battery life so you are not one of the beeping Aritronics radio's on the stand!

I guess it is just me though.

As for the spektrum mod. I had to unsolder the antenna loop off the board of the radio but I stuck my antenna into the radio so it just sticks out a little. Fits in my stuff better and will never have to worry about the antenna breaking off. I will try and get a pick when I can.

What did you use for the plug in the back. That is the only thing I have not done yet.

looks like the best bet would be to go with the TX only w/o module and stuff a spektrum in it.

You could wait a little while and KO will have a 2.4ghz system as well so you could be all ko!

Why would KO make a newer model radio in the older Mars case? Maybe I've been out of it, but wasn't the Helios case an 'upgrade' to the old Mars case? I understand that the new UR will have better circuitry than the Helios, I just don't understand going backwards with the case design. I love using my Helios and thought it to be an excellent upgrade in case design with the jog wheel, bigger lcd scree, and pivoting steering wheel compared to the older Mars models. Maybe I'm the exception? I don't know. Maybe one of you guys know the answer?
I know the anwser, marketing hype... although i prefer the old design, this is just clever marketing hype.

the KO 2.4 won't be out till almost July. i bought mine as a radio only since i already had the spektrum from my Helios. i used the UR tonight and actually really like it alot . i can't wait for the drop down wheel to comeout at the ned of the month though . the hole in the spektrum is filled with an old piece of pink taper glued in place to keep the dirt out

If you already have the spek stuff then by all means use it. I don't see the ko stuff being much different/better.

I would think you could use the old style drop down wheels from the Mars and Mars R? I know they put a smaller steering wheel on this radio but you should be able to mount that on? Maybe something else little changed though.

So I just picked up my UR today... a couple questions for anyone with a UR or KO experience..

- Can you adjust the spring tension of the steering wheel? On my m11 you would just tighten or loosen a screw in the middle of the wheel but I don't see that on the UR...I'm not a fan of how hard it pulls the wheel back to center.

- Does anyone have a good way to make the trigger smaller without melting it? I have it as small is it will go an its still too big...I was going to get some fuel tubing but i don't think that will be enough..

Thanks!

I took mine out and dremeled the slot longer so it could go smaller. If you do this be careful so you don't ruin your trigger though.
