If it's a ROAR race, it won't be legal, even with the case they provide. ROAR has specific regulations regarding the size of the Lipo as well as the style of the case its in. The Maxamps lipos don't even come close to meeting the specifications that ROAR has drafted in terms of the hard case.

Then they make one hell of a practice pack for those roar events then. I would still run a LIPO with a hard case at a roar sanctioned race for the practice time. I dont understand why the main battery company's dont start making them, there just loosing out on that part of the business.

I am sure you will see other companys coming out with hard case saddles soon.

But in Lipos for planes there is no better cells than those from FlightPower(aka TrakPower) They are just getting started in the car side!!

I completely agree. Flightpower are probably the most well regarded packs in the Lipo world. They actually take the time to match the cells to help cut down on any balance issues with the packs.

I've got 5 of the original Trakpower 4900mAh packs already and I'm itching to buy more when their new packs hit the shelves.

Got this response from Flightpower about the new saddle packs fitting the B44.

"As for fit and availability of the saddle packs we are waiting for them to arrive here in our office".

I beileve you only need 2 for racing.
I just started racing with 2 in Nov. 2007

I used to race with 4 packs, 3 heats and my main battery...etc..

But that was before Lipo packs got popular.
