Brushed to brushless problem?
Hello, I have a Losi xxx-t and recently upgraded from a 12t brushed motor to the novak GTB with a 5.5 velociti motor. I am still running Nimh batteries. It runs fine and everything except for one thing I noticed. I am not sure if it is normal for brushless or not.
When I really give it some juice, instead of the tires spinning or very quick acceleration like the brushed motor did, the motor (or possibly transmission) makes a strange sound and seems to accelerate slowly and then once it passes a certain point, it then will accelerate very quickly.
The pinion and gear is not loose. If I hold the truck off the ground and accelerate, the problem does not occur. It only occurs when it has some resistance. Could it be a problem inside my transmission?
I was just wondering if this is normal for this system or if there is a problem. Thank you.

Sounds like your slipper or diff is loose.

It could also be your batteries. If your brushless setup is asking for more amps than the batteries can deliver, the same thing will happen.
I'd really recommend going lipo with brushless, night and day difference in a mamba 4600 powered tt-01!

definately slipper or diff.
Brushless generates so much more torque it would make a brushed setup not work.
Did that with my stock car and popped a brushless in and it wouldnt launch just accellerate gradually. Tightened up teh diff and bingo it was launching.

Great thanks all for the advice, I will definitely check that and tighten up the slipper. Fairly new to all this so I am still learning.
