Yes if you bash.
I DID RACE MINE BUT BARLEY WON WITH IT. I raced little kids in 2006 and 2007...so that isnt saying much.. At the end of 2007 I raced with adult racers and got 3rd. I assume getting a Associated B44 or Tamiya 501x if you wanna stand your own ground.:) |
A couple of guys race these at my local track. A top of the line 4wd race machine they ain't. Durable, simple and fun they are. The only thing holding them back from being a "real" racer seems to be that the design doesn't allow for enough steering throw. These are great little cars for club racing.
For bashing, you should probably look at a stadium truck. The larger wheels and tires will work better on the kinds of up prepped surfaces you'll be running on. |
If I recall, it uses a 12mm hex setup for the wheels correct?
Assuming a conservative motor choice (say a brushless 13.5 or 10.5), you can mount truck rims ala Academy or Traxxas on there and make it a truggy. I know a guy who runs a Dark impact, and the main issue I see with the thing as far as durability is that the rear hingepin hooks to the tranny case for support if I recall correctly. so on a hard hit, you snap that part. Would have been so much better if they had made an aluminum brace so you just snap an arm. I personally like the idea of a battery pack down the middle. |
If you are considering a DF-03, consider the DB-01 (Durga) as well. It's a little more money for a better quality buggy, I think.
|
Issues with the DF03 were the motor doesn't get enough air flow, besides that fairly durable and can be competitive, but the Slipper clutch is a hop up?
I'd go the DB-01 over the DF-03 |
I have already ordered the dark impact.
So you can delete theses thread,I made one on rcu and i am geting more help. |
