Hello im interested in getting into racing and wanted to know what is a good basher and weekend racer that is under 300.00 bucks and has tone of after market parts. What is my options?

The ZX-5 RTR is nice, cheap too, and parts are everywhere, you can use it as a racer or a basher

The B44 is a nice racer too

If you're looking for something to do both, I'd go for a truck- especially if you're new. You can get T4 parts anywhere.

Yea it will be my first time racing but i've had a t-maxx and i also have a Mini lst and im never getting another Losi product. Now what kind of charger should i get.

Actually you need to figure out what battery to buy. Lipo or Nimh. How many milliamps ect....

After you figure out that route, then worry about getting a charger that will suit you battery or battery type.

As for the rtr, I would go ZX 5 if you want 4wd or associated if you want a truck. Either way the only one out there with upgraded electronics is the losi, so your limiting your self with this one.

If your willing to spent $300 buy the Team Kit T4 for under 200, and your own cheaper electronics. For a radio buy a used one in the FS forum and save some money.

Can't fault the RTR Lazer, awesome value.

As for after market parts, Your better off buying a competition spec car rather then upgrading a lesser car.

You can always go with a T4 team kit or a T4RS RTR. You can always upgrade to bearings with the RTR T4.

First thing I would do is stop by where you plan to race, and look for the following:

1. What is the largest class
2. What class has the most friendliest racers
3. Ask if a novice class is available
4. For the class that interests you, find out what the equipment limits are.

After you have done that, you can look into the different vehicle types as it makes no sense to get a 4wd electric buggy to race if you have no where to race it, same with anything else.

That being said, for electric a truck class usually can be found at the tracks, for now, being you don't like Losi, only option you really have is the T4. Personally, I like the T4 for its performance, but its front end durability on the a-arms is suspect. i was to the point of considering the GT2 conversion of a-arms for more durability but then just sold it all.

I am waiting right now for academy to make a GV2T or Kyosho to make a RB5T.

If you are looking at 2wd buggy, give the Academy GV2 a look. Very trick for the money.

T4 is good, so is the B44. Associtated has caught up to Losi.
