hey guys help me out i got my multimeter here and as my charger does not detect when batteries are full id like to know the reading i should be looking for. for a charged 3600NiMH and a charged 1800 NiCD

i want to know the number it should output when it is fully charged (for both)

the reading you need is a voltage drop of 5 mv per cell for nimh and 10 mv per cell for nicad. Regular dvm may not be precise enough to detect it.

Temp increase or max temp is also a reading you can use.

I'd strongly suggest getting a peak charger, they come pretty cheap these days. Without that, it is difficult to get a correct charge - you will likely either undercharge, resulting in poor performance, or overcharge, eventually leading to damage of the battery.

i have a delta peak charger on its way. i had purchased one however it was faulty and am waiting for my LHS to call me when on is in.
