I never thought it would be Traxxas vs. Losi.

Angry

YUP
the new car is the RTR truck with brushless that can go 49 MPH
you can see it in the multimedia then go to videos, it is the sound that was on the front page with the countdown

this SUCKs, i guess I have to do my 8 conversion now
I feel the same way as beachrazz
very disappointed about this, why not a new 1/8 scale

Paging Team Associated......can you please make a converted 1/8 scale to electric, dont know if Losi will ever do this because it is not suitable for bashers, shhhheeeshhhhhhh!

i think it is time for me to sell all my losi stuff
they are not into racing, there will be no more new racing parts and no setups because of no racing team, suuuuckkkkkss

good bye losi hello associated

Maybe the manufacturers are gunning for a shot at the "Worlds Fastest RC Vehicle" title that the mags put on each year. First Traxxas, and now Losi. They still have a ways to go to catch that CEN RTR sedan at 83 MPH.

Losi has been going to crap for awhile now but you can blame Horizon for that. The Losi family did not want this but when you sell out to what is now essentially a toy company this type of stuff was bound to happen. You can't blame the Losi family for this, you have to blame Horizon Hobby. ThunderTiger will eventually end up doing the samething to AE. It is just the direction these companies are heading. This is probably one of many reason Gil Jr left and went to Kyosho.

Wow, what a disappointment.

It's really disheartening to see what the once proud Losi name has been reduced to.

Competing w/ Traxxas? What a disgrace!

I'm not saying this is right, but I can't blame them. The fact is that the Rustler and Stampede RTR VLX setups are one of the hottest selling vehicles on the market for the basher crowd. Losi/Horizon is just following the money like any other business.

Is that good for those of us who race Losi products, maybe/maybe not. Usually racers are bashers before they find their way to the track. This puts their name out in front of a larger audience. This also helps gives them a potential sales boost that will help them keep producing the team kits that we all love.

If they had to rely on team kits alone for sales, they wouldn't stay in business very long.

Just my humble $.02

Competing with Traxxas is the smartest thing they can do. Traxxas is the most profitable rc car maker in the US by far. RTR bashers=profit. Racers=constant R&D and complaints for low sales volume in return.

Everyone who is disapointed here has a very short memory. Both of Losi's current 2wd electric race platforms are barely a year old and the 8ight is the most revolutionary 1/8 design ever (also barely a year old). Losi's "race" devision still puts every other company's race division to shame in terms of turning out new products.

Besides, RTR's are nothing new for Losi, why is this a surprise or a disappointment? They are going after more market share. If this thing makes them a ton of money (like the mini T and Slider) than they can cut off a slice for more race vehicle R&D.

Why isn't anyone bashing Traxxas for not dominating the race market?

Edit: gndprx and I must've been typing at the same time, and it seems we aggree.

On another note, I don't see how this is much of a new vehicle over the XXX-T Brushless RTR. They added some street wheels/tires and a wheelie bar and some anodized parts to their existing plastic RTR setup.

I can understand where it comes from. It sucks that Losi has to follow it to stay in the market. We just want RACE vehicles, not vehicles that suck at racing.
