vwinterr,

Here's a design I used for my home track. It's worked well for me.

Well, the dumb system wouldn't take an edit to my originally attached photo, so I deleted it. Then it wouldn't let me add the correct one, forcing me to enter a new message.

Here's the correct photo.

Sorry for the multiple posts. This forum system is not very versatile or editable.

what did you use to make the track packed and smooth?
also what program did you use to layout the track?

I have a small Kubota tractor with a box scraper attachment. The soil here in Copperopolis, CA is pretty rocky; so when I graded the area to remove the weeds and grass, the soil was already compacted.

I used Microsoftís Visio to do the drawing.

Jforkner, that is a sweet setup, looks fast. A few bigger jumps and it would be Nats ready lol. Looks great.

slodsm,

Yeah, the track seems fast, but Iím new to the hobby and have never run anywhere else. I run a Losi XXX-4 with a Reedy Kr 12 x 2---itís almost too fast and all I can handle at this time.
I agree about the jumps. Problem is the ground here is very rocky and I don't have any "clean dirt." The jumps I have were made from the dirt I scraped when I cleared the area. I need to acquire more to build some more and bigger jumps. I donít want to have to purchase dirt, so Iím just keeping an eye on the local construction sites.

TambokGT,

Copperopolis (95228) is about 40 miles east of Stockton---probably a long commute from LA County. But if youíre in the area, let me know.

great looking track but like slodsm said it does need some bigger jumps and some more jumps and it would be alot better IMO.
