the hardcase really only applies to 4wd buggys and onroad where the cell is openly exposed in a 2wd truck or buggy the battery is in the center and has plastic surrounding most of it. i dont think damage due to an impact will be an issue.

Just wondering... about what time do we usually finish on Sunday the 16th? Just need to know so I can plan my return flight accordingly.

Just a few years ago Orion had all there factory drivers enter the stock classes. Travis, Sohrab Tavakoli, and Hodapp were a few of them. Matt Francis ran stock buggy a few years ago too. You can't get anymore factory backed than that.

I would be willing to bet a nice steak dinner that at least 75% of both the stock and 19t A mains, the drivers will have some sort of chassis sponsor going into the event. Whether it would be 50% or more they will IMO have some sort of help.

Every class will competitive, no question

You don't need a sponsor to wheel, its just an excuse when you don't win. Either wheel it into the A-main or enjoy you E-main victory with the could've, should've, would've excuses.

I had zero sponsors when I TQ'd and won stock truck in 1993 (and there factory drivers in stock back then).....in 1994 I qual'd 3rd and won Stock truck again with a 50% Losi sponsorship.....in 1995 I TQ'd and won stock truck again with a 100% Losi sponsorship.

Last year in 2wd stock, I'm sure half the guys in the A-main didnt have a chassis sponsor (me included). But I think everyone had a motor and battery sponsor of some sort.

HAHA. I think so. 100% guys should be in Mod, Lesser ones maybe in 19T. NONE of them anywhere near Stock.

I was sponsored back then because I was fast in stock....in 1996 I went to Cactus again, and ran Mod truck instead of stock ......Was BQ just missing the A, won the B main of Mod truck.

Having a chassis sponsor doesnt make you an automatic Mod racer.

Yeah I had the fortunate experience of racing stock against a full ride NITRO guy who consistantly made the A mains in gas, but somehow because it was electric he was able to run Stock and 19T.

Granted I know its not the same racing, but RC racing is RC racing, its not like youre going from racing a boat to a GT car at Road America. If youre good youre good.

Anyway from then on I have always been one of those "If youre factory go race Mod" guys and those that dont have full 100% but maybe are 50% or have motor and batt sponsors run 19T at the lowest.

Unless they made a factory stock or whatever type of stock but then its too many classes probably.

50% and above should leave stock and 19 turn to the people that pay their bills.
