Josh, I certainly agree with you that this may be the case at a small club race at a small track. When you take a lot of great drivers and put them on a large blue grooved track, the advantage will be there.

We can all argue all day long as to if this is "cheating" or not or good or bad or whatever it is. If there are no rules to something, is it called cheating? Club racing is one thing, have fun, run what you brung, make it close, and again HAVE FUN. Large sanctioned or national events is a whole other matter.

The simple fact is this, they are two different technologies. One has lots and lots of rules, one has NO RULES. The two should not be competing together until more of a consensus can be reached. Everyone has a different opinion and no rulebook here. So, seperate them, have rules for both that make them fair against one another, or have no rules which I believe pretty much makes it modified which is what brushless motors are today and should not be allowed in SPEC class racing. How can a motor be considered SPEC if there are NO SPECS!!!

This is just MY OPINION and I am not upset and I will certainly do my best to compete and have fun as I always do. I plan on being competitive and the manufacturers I back will make sure of that.

How I wish it could be that easy! My family would definitely disown me if I skipped my sister's wedding to make the Race!

Dawn I promise when I'm around again in March... (not sure what year), You can bet I'll block off St. Patrick's Day weekend and make it to SRS! I'll also look forward to that sweet spot you can save me to get some good A-Main shots!

I have a hard time believing a brushed 19t is even an option if you want a chance at winning. Here we have been running lipos and brushless 19t classes for months and the brushed motored cars hardly ever make the main, if they do its usually an average of a lap off the pace.

I'd be surprised to see one on pace with a lipo brushless car with similar driver.

Yes, I have ran both 2w and 4w slightly overweight, my 2w is around 1570 grams well above the 1499 limit, I havent weighed the 4w for awhile but its alittle over as well.

We just took 2nd place in 19t at the JConcepts race in

Florida, against all lipo and brushless, truck and buggy!

10 minute mains, and we didn't use lipo either.

Just went 20 minutes Saturday without either too.

of course 100% guys should be in mod.......thats most likely WHY theyre 100% to begin with

50%ers I think will be the majority of the 19t >AND< stock A mains.

this is also a debate that will go on til the end of time.

I havent made up my mind yet of which classes I will race in, I have very limited out of state racing with electric. I've only raced one out of state electric race to date and it was certainly not up to this caliber of competition. I'm leaning towards 19t for both, as I'm sure there will be faster guys than me in that class. I also just got back into electric after about a 4 yr layoff and everything is so different I've just been playing catchup with the technology of everything. IMO I would feel more appropriate in 19t than mod getting in the way.
