This is 357 entries so there is just class filling at this point, right Sean? That would make mod truck and old dude closed.
Correct.

I'm glad to see old dude made the cut off, just barely. Hehe, I almost made the cutoff 25 entries for that too.

I would like to thank Casper for keeping us up to date on the entry counts and also for some heavy recruiting to the stock classes.

For all that don't know, the heats are 5 mins. Only the mains for the SRS classes are run different than usual. Below is a list of this years changes:

Stock Classes: 13.5 Brushless and 7.4 volt Lipo Allowed.

Mod Classes: 7.4 volt Lipos allowed

SRS Classes (Formerly known as 19T): 10.5 Brushless and 7.4 volt Lipos allowed, ANY 19T Brushed motor, 15 Minute A-Mains with bump ups. Lower mains are 5 minutes.

Old Dude: 10.5 Brushless and 7.4 volt Lipos allowed

Anything not listed in there is run as standard format racing, ie: Ifmar qualifying, 5 minute AAA mains, Qual Points, etc...

Hope this helps.

Just to complete the summary above, what are the specifications for Lipos? Still have to be hard cases? Is there any Mah limit?

Thanks.

Sean is unavailable this week as he's attending the Nitro Challenge at the Nitro Pit.

From what I have seen, Cactus entrys are closed as we met the 350 and now we will accept entrys for class rounding only. Today is the last day without a late fee.

Please be patient with the entry list and questions regarding the event until Sean is able to get to the computer.

Just wondering if I've have to ship my lipo battery packs to my hotel or if I can bring them on the plane with me. I read something about non-rechargeable lithium batteries being banned on aircraft. Just want to be sure!

Thats a really good question. We brought a few lipo packs to Snowbirds on the plane. They asked about the NiMH packs but not about the lipo packs. We figured we would just mail them from the airport if they did not make it.

If you have a way of mailing them, I would do that just to be safe.

When my son and I flew to Columbus for the CRCRC race, I called TSA and inquired about bringing cars, radios, and Lipo batteries. They looked it up and you can carry all this in your carry-on baggage. It is actually required that you bring the Lipos in carry-on, rather than checking them. The TSA person said if anyone gives you problems to politely have them call a supervisor to look it up. We had no problems either way.

Sorry, I raced the Nitro Challenge last week and was not available to answer questions.

There are no MAH limits. Hard cases are no longer required for this years Cactus. Lipo Sacks are recomended.

Next years Cactus will follow more on the same lines of ROAR rules in regards to motor and batteries.

We should have a sick layout then. Joey is one of the best around for making tracks! Sure there is not going to be a huge quad again though! Joey makes a lot of large gas tracks!
